Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
Looks good. Id buy 4 if i had the money.
Rebel-rouser!

My response is… a story. When I was an early teen I had a musician uncle. He mostly played folk and ballads on the banjo. In the ‘60’s when Blue Grass was all the rage I asked; Uncle Freddie, can you play Blue Grass? His response—“I’d like to be able to play Blue Grass, and then not.”

The whole thing is so annoying.
Hopefully there is positive side to this and that is bringing public awareness about state franchise laws. When you hear dealerships saying that they provide value to their customers, then I cringe. I'm guessing that the experience most folks have with dealerships is not positive. If it were, then the dealerships would have nothing to worry about and we wouldn't need franchise laws. This lack of Freedom of Choice just seems contrary to our nation's so called free enterprise by having government regulation\intervention.

The dealerships could change their practices but we all know they won’t.

Exactly! What is worse is that in a way the dealerships have leverage with the media. Can you imagine if newspapers and local TV challenged the franchise laws? Dealerships would pull their ads immediately. And there are a tremendous number of dealership advertisements as I am sure we all know.

I always love how after you buy a car they then tell you oh this thing I told you was a great choice, well it’s gonna fall apart so buy this crazy warranty, which is exactly how we ended up with the lifetime warranty on the Jeep. Salesman telling us oh you know Wranglers are terrible mechanically and require lots of repairs. By then you are so far in and paperwork is being signed it’s too late to back out. We had been at the dealership all day at that point. All day! Now am I glad I have the warranty? Yes. But did it leave a bad taste in my mouth even 13 years later? Yes.

Hyundais halo car.
