Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
Pod Lights?

My Friend has them on her Bronco. Have to be the most tasteless accessory
Kill two birds... Mount infrared pods to the hood tie down so you get the bro look while also being able to use them to melt ice/snow off the hood/windshield in the winter. In the summer, you can use them like fast food restaurants do and keep your two-day-old fries warm while you're hanging out on a nice summer evening!

I'm trying to count the number of times I have wished for hood tie-downs on any of my pick-up trucks in my entire life... I'm failing.

I'm usually not as big a fan of things that aren't really utilitarian, but serve to look the part. That creates skepticism for me. LOL.

Like, "Is this thing going to just snap off my hood if I actually tie a rope to it with a load on my roof and bounce down on a dirt road???"

But they look so good….

I'm glad you like them. But I am with @R1TVT all the way on this one. If you actually need them that's great. But, I hope they are an option. I tend to judge when I see 99% urban use vehicles with snorkels, ladders, roof tents, jerry cans, etc. I would feel like that if I had hood tie downs on my Scout.

I get it, but boy those snorkels sure do look great. And you never know I could come upon a really deep puddle! 😹

Maybe keep them on the Traveler! LOL.

Anything non-functional that also creates drag goes in the bed of my pick up truck

Would it help if I told you they were strakes for smoothing the airflow and lessening the high pressure area at the windshield cowl, thus improving aerodynamic efficiency?

I know this was not a reply to me, but I still would not want them. That said, I do think that piece of trim should be bolt on so you could add them if you want.

Do you just leave a hole in the hood otherwise? A faux vent that could be replaced with the tie downs? Maybe we could mount crosshairs for easier pedestrian targeting? A fold-down windshield anchor on a later remodel with a removable top?

I'm perfectly fine losing them. They'll be a pain to clean around and they're only attached to the hood, not exactly confidence inspiring for legitimate tie downs, but if you're stabilizing a kayak or something, I guess they won't see much load.

Primary concern is cleaning snow and ice and clearing hood in winter (and them not being truly functional), but if stuff sticking out of the hood gave me a better drag coefficient, well, it might be easier to consider the trade-off!

Love the outside the box thinking. Since I’m mounting a smoker and a fryer station in my frunk this will be perfect. Now I just need an integrated cutting board on top of hood for slicing the meats
