From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.
Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.
How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.
Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Many of us asked for it, but it does not appear that we will get it. The concept did not have it. I think the main reason is we got a clam shell gate like the original. I do not think that the window would be able to roll down all the way with the clam shell configuration. But, who knows. We are still a long way to production.
Need terra interior in the traveler as an option imo
Which part? The bench seat will be available in both vehicles as an option.
I love the fabric color and grain trim of the interior of the terra, and the body of the traveler. But I understand if they are separate for design. Perhaps a lighter interior option.
I definitely plan to get the bench seat in the traveler for sure.
Having seen it I agree that it’s probably too tight though I’d love it
Welcome to our happy Scout home. As a tip we offer often is the search command will help you find all kinds of cool info. With 2-1/2 years of chatter there are days worth of great thread reads. Same here but to date the Terra is advertised as having operable rear window
We currently have a Ford Bronco and one of the things I dislike the most is the back tailgate. Don’t get me wrong, it works great for off roading, camping, sporting, or whatever. It absolutely sucks when going grocery shopping. So much so, I’d rather take my 2014 MINI Countryman than the Bronco. Ugh. If only the back window rolled down into the tailgate. The rear tire (of course we have a larger than standard spare) is so heavy, when you have to open the gate to put groceries in it takes a lot of work. You have to make sure it is all the way swung open (and stays) so you can lift up the top window. Then you have to reverse all your steps. Looking at the Scout SUV, I’m seeing a potential for three functions to go through in order to open and close the tail gate. This is not practical. If a sliding window won’t work, maybe a better engineered mechanism for the tire swing arm? Just something to consider.

This is where the extra storage space of an EV shines, and the Scout frunk will be perfect for a lot of this stuff.
It’s also really fun to wave some helpful person off when they see you have the hood of your vehicle up. Nope, just putting groceries in the frunk, nothing to worry about here.
The tire carrier is optional. I 100% agree with you. I do not offroad and do not want it the day to day hassle. But, it does look cool.
I forgot about the front. I don't think it could handle a Costco run. Lol
