All terrain tires

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
I’ve ran a few different tires over the years, some on HD trucks (2004 Ram 2500 and 2012 Power Wagon) and then some half ton truck usage (2020 Ford Raptor and 2021 Ram TRX). I know this isn’t exactly apples to apples, but the one thing all four trucks had in common was 4wd and heavy (especially the two Ram HD’s). Where I’m going with this is I’m not sure Scout has posted the weight of their vehicles, but EV’s are not known for being light. I’ve always figured if I can get 40,000 miles out of a tire, I’ve really accomplished something (so far 36,000 miles is the best I’ve done). While we are talking about noise and range, be prepared to wear out tires faster with your Scout.
You are saying be prepared to wear out tires faster. Is that because of torque? If you aren’t flying off the line all the time wouldn’t that be better for your tires and make them last longer?

It’s my understanding that because of the torque and weight of an EV, that tires don’t last as long.

I have a buddy of mine that back when I owned my gas powered Ram Power Wagon, he had a 3/4 Ram Diesel that he used for construction. He was never racing off the line, but between the extra torque and the weight of the diesel, he was replacing tires almost 10,000 miles before me.

I got great mileage from the tires on my Tesla Model 3. However, my Rivian R1T has Goodyear Wrangler Territory AT All Season tires on it. I'm coming up on 19k miles and I'll be lucky if I can make it to 25k. I will say that I do drive my truck hard at times and it spends a decent amount of time off-road.

Now I will say that these are the "factory" tires, but next I'm going to the brand new Kumho Road Venture Rugged Terrain which is a new segment that falls between A/T and M/T and I think will be the perfect solution for my needs and hopefully will get substantially more mileage than the tires I have currently.

If/when you do -if you would be so kind, keep updating as that may be an alternative for many of us considering the Scouts

I have to go through my Hagerty drivers club magazine I get because of classic car ownership. They have all types of tire companies ive never heard of. Maybe you tire nerds can do research on them.
