Custom External Sounds

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

While the Dodge Charger EV fell flat in the execution, I think it's a good idea in concept. I would love to have the option to upload my own external audio files for the external engine noise. For those of us that want a "engine sound" let us upload our own sounds. It would be the modern day "garage tinkering/muffler mod". Would also allow you to make your scout "YOUR OWN".

Perhaps I'll make my engine sound be something that sounds like a Tractor mixed with a starship.... Next guy might just upload a raw V-8 sound.. Next guy a diesel sound. It's not a big ask really but would go a long way.

And of course for those that don't want it all, can just turn it off.

I hate the idea of an external sound! I get woken up every morning by my neighbors toyota hybird and the stupid high pitched sound it makes every morning. I understand that some people may want it to sound like an older engine, but give us the ability to turn it off please. I will be using mine in the mountains all the time and the LAST thing I want is an engine sound... I'm looking forward to enjoying the aspen leaves and the mountain views without an engine.... PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, do not make a mandatory engine sound!
Make it sound like a DT466. Problem solved. (I believe federal regs require some type of sound at low speed for safety.)

I want my fart sound

I want my fart sound
If Scout offers a fart sound, I know one thing is for sure... I'm 100% OUT.

(not that I believe they would ever offer one).

It just ain't part of the no-nonsense, more understated, and much more BADA$$ Scout fabric & ethos. Way off-brand, actually.

Stay classy Scout Motors!!! (y)

How bout we customize what we want? Having custom lock sounds, driving sounds is what made Tesla great. Considering we are here because Scout is making EV and EREV's.

This is just me, and I get everyone has their own wishes, but I’m hoping that Scout is very uniquely Scout. I want them to have their own sound profiles that we get to select from. For example, let Tesla and Rivian and the Ioniq 5N have their own sounds.

I would like to be driving down the road or setting my alarm or unlocking my car and people recognize that that noise is coming from a Scout, just like you recognize a fart noise is coming from a Tesla.

I think the thing though is Scout can have its own sounds but allow the ability to upload custom sounds. That's what Tesla did and made it great. And honestly, that's why they're the leader in the industry is thinking outside the box and pretty much every imaginable aspect. I think rivian is a close second but I haven't been able to mess around in one of the vehicles. And I would say the same thing about lighting not just Force a red LED but have the ability to have any color..

Ps.. I’m thinking back to when you could actually customize the driving sound. People had space whooshes, bubbling effects, even fart sounds — and it was hilarious watching a Tesla roll by making those noises. Now it’s all illegal, which kills a lot of the fun. It’d still be great if manufacturers let us choose our own sounds and just accept the risk, but that’s probably never coming back.

The remote‑triggered sounds were uniquely cool too — being able to fire off a fart sound from the app or inside the car was peak Tesla weirdness in the best way. I seriously doubt Scout will ever go that far. But at the very least, customizable lock sounds should be on the table. And honestly, I’d be pleasantly surprised if Scout offered a whole suite of sounds you could trigger from the app or in the cabin the way Tesla does.

Not to mention the car speaker system that you could actually talk through..

Not onboard. Bad ideas get reflected on Scout’s reputation and I don’t want Scout having the rep that Tesla does. Not good for the brand
