Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
204 kW - I don't see how that is all that impressive. I think they might have meant mW. A pallet of panels is generally a bit over 11kW. 18 pallets of panels (less than one 18 wheeler worth) is not all that impressive.

In the photo I can see 482 panels if we pick an average of 400 W panels we can see 193 kW worth in the photo.

Very interested in this, love anker products
Wow this is really interesting and yeah I love my Anker power station. The one thing that kills this new product line for me is buying an EV that supports V2H. Why pay thousands/tens of thousands for a big battery pack system when I have all the power I need parked in my driveway?

To that point, I don't know what size pack the Scout will have, but look at how many days Anker says you could power a home with 90kWh and I bet they're assuming a family making no effort to limit energy use...

Two advantages I see with the system above vs a Scout with V2H parked in the driveway..
1. Anker system has higher burstable output of 10-30kW up to 90 minutes. Say it's a hot August day in Dallas, you have a big A/C system, and ERCOT fails you..again, that might matter.
2. You can use your vehicle as a mode of transport or a power station, but you can't do both at the same time. If you have multiple cars it doesn't matter or if you're gone only for a couple hours it won't matter either (thinking about fridge).

All that said, both Ford and GM's V2H system does a steady 9.6kW output into the house which means you'd be able to power all your lights, your fridge, your wifi, an appliance, devices, computer for posting on the Scout forums, and maybe even an A/C system or heat pump so long as it has a soft start system. Yes you'll have to balance your loads aka don't run your dishwasher, washing machine, dryer, microwave, etc. all at the same time, but you'll be able to live quite comfortably for weeks at a time.
