Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
After only one experience driving an automatic Start/Stop, 50% fuel savings wouldn't convince me to buy one. It is just irritating. Granted, I don't rack up much mileage annually. As for the fuel efficiency regulations, my opinion is that Americans do love the gas guzzlers and will buy them. I mean, what is the Tacoma without the V6, the Mustang and Camaro without the V8? I love muscle cars like any other and I love my current V8 SUV, but I am ready to move on.
I have no issue with start/stop. Not sure why it bugs so many people.

What did we do without backup screens? 😂
Man I don’t know. I’ve been using a company pick up a lot lately. 4-cyl TACO and has a key to open and close. But even it has back up camera which is great because it’s obviously bigger than my accord but first time I drove it I was worried because I had to back into a space. Guess it’s basically a safety feature on nearly all new vehicles

2016 I think it was mandated.

I saw the Head of the WH wants small cars like Japan. He said we would like the DOT to approve the idea.

I can’t imagine driving a Kei car on a 70 mph highway. Couldn’t even get to that speed and sitting duck with large SUVs on the interstate. In NYC-sure, great car size and other countries make very cool small/micro cars but now they all get smacked with tariffs. The original honda civics succeeded for same reason in 70’s/80’s due to oil embargoes and crazy fuel prices. That would probably be considered a micro car this day and age. I’ll stick with a large Scout and BEV and get similar miles for similar costs as a micro death trap

A Coffin on Wheels to sum it up.

70 in a kei car probably feels like death wobble in a jeep but worse.

After renting a BEV, for everyday driving my V8 ICE is irritating. Having to "start" the engine, accelerating, engine revving, gear changing and that initial hesitation. Really? I can see why those with EVs don't go back.
I’ll give some insight to this as well, even though it’s supposed to be kept quiet until after the full 7 days: after testing a BMW X3 2026 for 3 of 7days so far, here’s what’s sticked out, It’s 48v mild Hybrid system, is a complete game changer, with Auto start stop, shifting, and hesitation. Everything is so smooth. The engine starting and stopping at lights you can’t feel, turbo lag is non existent. It’s a very quiet cabin, besides the fake exhaust sounds from BMW. It gets me excited for my Scout. And the X3 reminds me of a miniature version on the BMW XM. But more comfort than sport, but heck does it put you into the seat.

Thanks for the mini review.

I still don’t understand how Smart Cats were a thing. So tiny.
