Off-topic stuff…

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
On November 11, 1926, a single route across the United States was designated as Route 66.
We’re just a little over a year away from the 100th anniversary of Route 66, which helped usher in the automobile as the dominant transportation mechanism for the United States, for better or for worse.

I’ve driven ~1500 of the ~2250 miles of the route. Sometime next year, we’ll likely drive the rest of it, though we won’t do the full route in one trip.

How much of Route 66 have you driven?

I have only been in the little part in Albuquerque.

I see this nonsense every day. I cannot believe how many people do not put a single chain or strap on their machinery they are towing. The police only care if there is an accident. Unless you encounter the Transport Police that oversee commercial vehicles. They could find violations on trucks leaving the assembly line.

64 mph on a skate board.

Saw the video. That was crazy. Standing on that ledge must have you thinking of it was really the right choice 🤣 but cool he succeeded

Okay I need some advice from Miami peeps. I’m going to Miami in a couple weeks for a work event. One day is a fun day and they have given us options to choose from.

Would you recommend:

1. Hop on hop off big bus Miami tour. South beach, little Havana, etc.

Or

2. Everglades airboat tour

Thanks!!

I’m not a Miami peep, but we had a flight delayed for more than a day in MIA once and so we went to the Everglades. I’d go back for the Everglades several times before I’d take a tour of the city.

I would probably do the Everglades. We actually did a cruise out of Miami last year and had one day to do some excursions in Miami, we wanted to do Everglades but it was full so we did a tour similar to the hop on hop off you can do. That was also really enjoyable so either way I think you will have fun.

Going to watch the race at 2am?
It’s on at 7 am my time. I pay for F1 TV so I can watch at whatever time I get up. George on pole and Max second tomorrow will be interesting I would bet. Max isn’t out of the drivers championship yet. We shall see…..

It’s here! I haven’t bought a CD in at least 15 years. 😹

@SpaceEVDriver I am in the same boat, 7 years ago I bought my dream bike. To be honest it's still my dream bike, but too many idiots on the road. This spring I got the oil changed and the fork seals replaced, and I swore to myself that I would ride it or sell it. I rode it exactly once, and it's now sold.

To be honest, I miss being a guy with a cool motorcycle more than I miss actually riding the cool motorcycle. To everything there is a season, or something like that....

One of my and my buddy’s dreams was to do a Long Way kind of trip. We were going to trade up our cruisers/baggers for adventure bikes. He wanted a BMW, and I was looking at the Triumph, but also had several other bikes in mind. But then he went and had to move because costs are rising and jobs are scarce.

Sadly, even selling the bike isn’t going well. I should have put it up for sale last spring rather than autumn. I’ll probably have to hold onto it for another six months.
