One feature that made you pull the the trigger on a reservation….

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
Multiple things really…
- Always wanted a Scout and lately leaning towards an EV SUV. I was thinking about the Rivian R2, but the Scout Traveler looks much better imho.
- 0-60 in ~3.5 secs with ~350 mile range.
- Love the interior, screens and actual switches. Hoping the production model retains a similar appearance.
- 800-volt architecture
- Being able to buy it direct.

I have to agree that being able to avoid dealerships is a big deal for me as well. A huge deal, really.

I don’t think I’ve ever answered this thread.
  1. BEV
  2. Direct to Consumer
  3. Likely to have true off-road chops

We’re still cross-shopping. It takes us years to buy a vehicle, so we start cross-shopping when we’re about halfway through the ownership of the vehicle the new one will replace. We’re planning for >100,000 miles on the Mustang before we pass it down to the Spawn.

The possible replacements for the Mustang include, in no particular order:

  • Another Mustang Mach-E
  • Rivian R2
  • Scout Traveler BEV
  • Toyota Land Cruiser BEV
  • Toyota Tacoma BEV
  • Used Rivian R1S with Max pack (new is just outside of our price range)

The Land Cruiser as BEV appeals to me IF they keep the boxy look. Like the concept too but want a boxy look. Don’t love this green but love the build

I like green, but that kind of green doesn't appeal to me at all.

I would prefer the current boxy Land Cruise styling too.
I just hope they really change the interior. Even though they update the interiors in the Toyota they still just look cookie cutter to me. That’s another thing that drew me to the Scout. I love the interior.

The interior of the upcoming 2026 RAV4 looks like 2021 styling. My current 2023 Kia Sportage PHEV has it beat by miles.

Dang…I don’t know how I was reading the question initially, but if I think about it further - your number 3 is definitely my number 1. We’re out on dirt and rocks nearly every weekend. So, I guess if I had a top 3 it would be:

1. True off-road chops
2. Harvester
3. Direct to Consumer

We do a ton of research beforehand as well and the R2 and Traveler are in the mix. May I ask why the Recon is not on your list? I just want to make sure there are not things about it I may have missed. Thanks.

Great question. I don’t believe almost anything coming out of Stellantis with regards to their BEV future. So it’s difficult for me to plan on it existing. If it’s something that exists when we’re ready to buy, it’ll go onto the list.

Definitely a fair assessment. I wondered if that might be the case. Thanks.

I have R2 and Traveler reservations as well. Recon isn't on my list because Jeep/Stellantis quality is garbage. Each new model cycle they say things are different now and things have improved, but they haven't. Even if I found Recon visually appealing, which I don't, I'd wait many years before making a decision and by then our latest round of DD replacements will have already happened.

The harvester for sure! However; I did fall in love with the design and the way they are keeping the buttons on the interior with a mix of technology. If they can keep the pricing right then I will continue to be all in!!

I own a Wrangler and I had been very lucky with her, and I love my Wrangler and I would not buy any Stellantis products.

We are having faith that they will keep the pricing like they said! We are just putting positive thoughts into the universe that that’s gonna happen.
