We don’t use the F-word around here. They are going to be wildly successful!I agree. Undercapitalization causes 90% of start-up business failures. That doesn’t mean Scout wont fail, but they seem to have a good foundation.

I’m glad you stayed on the forum. Speaking for myself your knowledge and experience have really unclouded a lot of my thinking. That you live and travel in relative ‘charging deserts’ is reassuring. We have two perfectly fine EVs today, so the Scout would be an unnecessary expense in the sense that neither of our current EVs are likely to *require* replacement by 2028. If we are still employed in 2028, things might look different, but it just didn’t make sense to retain the reservation at this stage—I chose to step aside so someone else can advance in line while we re-evaluate our spending. I also wasn’t 100% on the Traveler—I really want a skinnier SUV if/when we replace the Mustang.
I still hang out here because I like the community and I really, really want Scout to succeed and I think a large part of that is breaking EV myths. I think they’re developing some fantastic vehicles (even if they don’t meet my future needs exactly), and it would be a huge shame if they don’t succeed simply because people are ill-informed or afraid of EVs. I don’t think my little bit will be the tipping point, but I feel it likely won’t hurt.
You see? Don’t leave us!IMO, if the Scout is even half as capable and well-engineered as suggested, it will outperform the Jeep in city snow and ice conditions by leaps and bounds.
When "normal" weather was reliable, we would get ~100 inches of snow during the season. My EVs, without any snow modes, and with the crappy OEM tires, outperform the Tacoma with all the 4WD capabilities and snow tires.
Good call. Thats one of those things I just expect every vehicle to have. Even my wife's $28K Ford Maverick has adjustable lumbar support.Adjustable lumbar support! I just drove my son’s car and it doesn’t have that. As someone with back issues I really need lumbar support. If it’s adjustable even better.
I agree. At this starting price point I expect it toGood call. Thats one of those things I just expect every vehicle to have. Even my wife's $28K Ford Maverick has adjustable lumbar support.

Makes it easy picking a new vehicle. One question elimination. Quickly move on.Well they all don’t and I need it.
My husband says I’m like Goldilocks and no car has been just right until the Scout came along.Makes it easy picking a new vehicle. One question elimination. Quickly move on.![]()
Sounds like you have the makings of a new Scout commercial. My husband says I’m like Goldilocks and no car has been just right until the Scout came along.
I made a list on here a while back of all the vehicles I test drove. I think it was 18.Sounds like you have the makings of a new Scout commercial., Yes really.
And #19 will be Just right.I made a list on here a while back of all the vehicles I test drove. I think it was 18.

Made me laugh. Very clever. Nice play on words, (Undercapitalization)So maybe we should start typing SCOUT just to be safe?
Same hereUgh! Took me a minute. Good word play.

Absolutely all things to consider. Unfortunately we won't know for some time. We need to belive Scout will be suppling a great vehicle at a great price.I guess deal breaker for me is price. If they offer a tiny tire low range version for 60k and the version they’ve been showing at 80k+.
And Range. If real world range is considerably off if their optimal possible range.
What they’ve been showing definitely isn’t gonna be $60 unfortunately. I’m guessing traveler as shown with tire carrier and 350 mile range will be pushing $78-$85K. Reality is there isn’t much more they can add to the prototypes (other than suspension/off-road packages. So they are kinda maxed out on options so they have to be near the upper end of range. Just the reality of tariff pricing with so much steel and metal in the vehiclesI guess deal breaker for me is price. If they offer a tiny tire low range version for 60k and the version they’ve been showing at 80k+.
