Scout Terra Debuts in New Silo Color and Retheme

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
As we have been talking about for a while now, the Terra recently underwent some surgery to get a fresh new color and a retheme. This predominantly green color has a heavy gold metallic and looks different depending on how the sun hits it - sometimes more gold, sometimes more green.

Exterior updates:
• Silo Green metallic Exterior Paint Color
• 37-inch BF Goodrich® K03® tires mounted on 18-inch “Clutch” wheels
• Off-road side-steps
• Bull Bar with integrated tow hooks and shackle hole
• Roof basket with pivoting, rear chase light pods
• Scout Supply cargo box with gear dividers
• Scout Supply gear bench

Interior updates:
• Terracotta accents on instrument panel, door and seat uppers,
• New headliner with a warm, heavy texture with tan, gray and brown tones
• Door straps match the headliner
• Door inserts also updated with perforated leather in plaid perforation pattern to match seats.
• Control Knobs and Toggles redesigned for a more rugged and improved tactile feel.
• Overhead console has been refined, containing more rugged controls and refined details focused on the compass with improved graphics.
• Steering wheel with Terracotta accent

This is an absolute beautiful color. I remember a post on the traveler also with a green color. What is the name on that one? It looks slightly darker.

Since you are looking for feedback, here is my opinion on the exterior changes (and the truck in general):
  • The new color is great, and I like that you are not going with white/grey/black. I hope these colors are available when the Scouts go up for sale.
  • I am not a fan of the 37-inch tires, but I know other people would love this as an option. I do like the look of those 18-inch wheels. I intend to buy the truck with 33-inch tires and will buy a set of 35-inch tires on dedicated rims for off-roading (if the truck supports alternate tire diameter settings via computer). If those 18-inch wheels are an option when buying I will consider it. But I am sure you'll have a couple of very nice options in addition, picking will be challenge.
  • The side step is nice since it looks integrated with truck. I would pick it if it were offered.
  • I am not a bull bar person, but that one could tempt me. The low profile aspect is why.
  • Roof basket - not my thing. I will let those that use them comment.
  • I love the Scout Supply cargo box, mainly because it uses the same design language as the truck. I like the slotted side for extra gear attachment. I don't need a tool box like that, but if that is offered as is I like it enough that I would likely purchase one for my Terra.
As for the interior:
  • I don't like the wood panels and I am not a fan of the terracotta colors. I preferred the color scheme of the seats in the first iteration of the Terra.
  • I love the new headliner, the texture and the colors are fantastic. I prefer this to the grey patterned interior you had in the Traveler. While I liked the solid grey you had originally in the Terra, I prefer this heavier texture for the ceiling and pillars.
  • I would really like to see the headliner color and texture on the seats as well. I think that would appeal to me more than the terracotta color or a flat grey.
  • Control knobs are a "fell" rather than a "see" for me. but I like the idea that they are being made more rugged. I want something that I can use while wearing gloves in the wintertime.

The “off-road side steps” aren’t my favorite.

If they’re meant to be rock sliders, that sudden step *in toward the vehicle* just before the rear wheel will create some situations where the truck slides along the rock and then suddenly the rear panel is slammed up against the rock (and damaged). And now the vehicle is stuck: Can’t go forward because the body is jammed against the rock and can’t go in reverse because of the step in the slider. Most functional sliders have a rear kickout so the vehicle is pushed away from the rock right before the rear tire encounters it.
Also echoing this.

Nerf bars and offroad steps can reduce offroad performance and don’t offer much protection.

I hope the factory sliders will be functional and offer kick-outs.

Kick outs have kept me off of trees and rocks multiple times. When I welded mine on I got a lot of grief from my friends because they stuck out so far, and I angled them to be more flat so they could also be used as a step.

I also never had a back passenger or driver side window get blown out by a tree or rock like they had.

Was also awesome in parking lots when people just swung their door open without looking and got a nice crease from smacking my slider.

Jamie mentioned at one point that was a CGI color and was originally in one of the slides in the background of the reveal event. It wasn’t an actual true color

I love the exterior color, well done Scout! I am still trying to wrap my mind around some of the interior color choices. I love the textures and i think I like the tan interior accents and color used for the top of the seats. I would prefer to see a seat that was all tan (not two-tone) so hoping that will be an option. There's something weird about gray and brown together unless they are just right shades, but just my opinion!

I agree. I prefer single color seating. Especially when it is leather.

I would agree. I think these shades work together but not as big a fan of the new combo. Like the original traveler and hope to see a lighter option as well with the upcoming traveler revamp

I haven’t made up my mind when it comes to interior color scheme. I don’t dislike any of them and I probably lean toward the original Traveler interior, but I don’t know that any of them are truly up my alley. Don’t get me wrong, the designers did an amazing job with all of them. I just don’t know which direction I’d go if these were the choices.
