Scout Terra Debuts in New Silo Color and Retheme

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
I haven’t made up my mind when it comes to interior color scheme. I don’t dislike any of them and I probably lean toward the original Traveler interior, but I don’t know that any of them are truly up my alley. Don’t get me wrong, the designers did an amazing job with all of them. I just don’t know which direction I’d go if these were the choices.
Let's hope there are more than two selections for each vehicle like many car line do.

I’ll admit I was a little surprised at how well that thing swallows a 37 inch tire. It gives me a good idea of the actual size even though I’ve seen the dimensions and all, it’s just different to see the reality of it in pictures.
It so different when you see it in person. Having seen it, I was not surprised at all how good they looked.

It really irks me when you go to build a vehicle online and it will show 6 options for interior colors and material but you can only select from 2 without changing the trim level. If you can’t get it in that trim don’t show it.

In Germany, our head of design Chris Benjamin did a design presentation (his starts at 42 minutes). I can't find a you tube link yet, but you can find the design presentation here:

That was very interesting. Thank you for sharing! Actually having tools in the bed box was an unexpected surprise.

I saw the binoculars!

Also when the tires went "pooft" and grew - that was hilarious

Looking good

Just finished watching this video as well, Chris is very polished in his presentation, great hops by the way! Terra looked stunning, the color is a homerun. The team behind the colors has nailed the colors up to this point, SM is doing a great job spacing out content to keep the spark alive. Very well thought out toolbox design.

I loved the video and all the accessories in the toolbox. I have the Traveler reserved. It would be great if there was some sort of storage box we could get for the back of our Traveler as well. And if we get one, I’m going to spend so much money on accessories.

I think a lift out storage bin, trunk, box or what ever it will be called would be very nice.

Okay more comparisons.

Silo Terra wheel
Terra wheel at Nats
Traveler wheel at Nats

And I know I said earlier that I was 50/50 on the Silo wheel but comparing all 3 I think I like it the best. It would be fun if we could see that wheel with the center and outer ring black and the middle ring matte bronze. That might be really pretty.

I’m hoping we get a couple more wheel options.

You won't be able to see your cool colored brake calipers with the the Silo Terra wheels.

The more I see of the Terra with 37s the more I wonder if that’s a better move for me than the Traveler. That is a really, really sharp vehicle.

Also, Chris Benjamin did a great job!

There’s a thread somewhere where we all listed what was in our cars. We need a bin that attaches somehow so stuff it’s banging around in our cargo areas. 🧐
It would be nice if it attaches somehow to one side or the other. I don't even like reusable shopping bags sliding back and forth, drive me nuts.
