ANNOUNCEMENT - New Login System for Scout Community Forums

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
I got the SSO to work for now. I don’t want mess with any more settings for the time being. I’ll go with Cb as my login name. (Formerly known as Horsefarmer). Do I need to come up with a logo for it ? 😉
You had to change your name again??

For S and Giggles how about a guy getting kicked by a horse 😀. Guessing that’s what this ordeal feels like. And it would remind us all that it is you. Or maybe something less childish-very late night of work and I’m getting childishly tired

Hi all,

We have been in the process of aligning the Scout Community forum login with our Scout Motors single-sign-on. Nothing has really changed other than if you log out (or get logged out due to a computer change or forum software upgrade) the next time you log in, it will take you to the Scout log in to verify your email address (it will send you a code to verify and type in) and once you complete that and one additional step, you should be logged in again and good to go.

Let me know if anyone is having issues or seeing odd things. We didn't originally plan to do this update today, so I apologize. We ran into a timing issue with some other updates and decided to go ahead and take care of this.

Long-term, our goal is to have just one login for everything you do at Scout - simple, easy, and relatively painless.

Thanks for your patience!

Jamie
The biggest complaint Jamie with this change is private browsing. So this forum makes me get a code every time now. Other than that, keep the great info coming…I appreciate it.

Are you logging out every time you close out? I don’t even know how to log out so I never have to log back in. I haven’t had to do this 2fa code thing yet.

I probably depends on what browser you are using. I use two different secure browsers that do some cleanup when you quit them. I also need to acquire a new code every time.
It's not really 2FA it is using the code as a password to your Scout password.

Still using a browser. Scout as far as I know doesn't have an App. Most likely is you never close the browser when on your phone
No app. Just go through the browser on my phone is what I should have said. It would be nice if when they have an app for our Scouts the app also could connect us to the forum through the app. That’s a good idea.

I never browse on my phone. But, I logged out and closed the browser at my desktop. Then using the same browser as on my desktop I logged into the community on my phone. It asked for a code as usual, I looked around a bit once logged in then closed the page and then the browser on my phone. I reopened the browser on my phone, typed the community address and I was still logged in. So the difference is the same browser on my phone doesn't log me out when I close it and my desktop does. If I logout of the site on my phone, then it will ask for a new code the next time I attempt to login. All that to say yes it is a browser issue. :)
