  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

Hello my name is Juan, I just joined recently and the truth is I am very surprised with the models and the project that Scort motors has. I already reserved a seat to be one of the first customers to purchase the truck or SUV. Just a point of view, I would like the SUV to have the roof like the truck has and I would also like the truck to have a division between the driver and the driver's assistant. As a consumer I would feel more comfortable driving the truck and at the same time I would have where to rest my arm or store things and if possible they could put a lever to select P.R.N.D.S. It would be with a better old style but with modern touches on the colors I love the interior combination .. on the exterior paint I would love to be able to put a military green with led lights on the front grill that looks aggressive but at the same time comfortable for daily use. Thank you for my small opinion as a future Scout customer ...

Welcome to the forum.
The traveler (suv) will have options for solid roof, fixed glass roof and the cabana fabric operable roof.
The bench seat is an option. It WILL have a fold down center arm rest/console but was not complete for the reveal vehicle. The traveler (SUV) concept was shown with the bucket seats at front with more significant center console. This will also be available on either vehicle so you’ll have flexibility in front seat configuration.
If you watch the official Scout reveal video on YouTube there is a moment where the show (on the background video screen) a traveler model in a darker army/British racing green shade. It’s kinda a mix between the two-it looks really good but it’s just a couple seconds.

Morning! I thought we had some other interior threads but this one seems the most appropriate so I will put this here. A post from @SpaceEVDriver got me thinking about interiors and how in modern cars so many interiors feel outdated. I posted in another thread all the cars I have test driven that have lead me to this place. 18 of them! The two that have stood out to me for very different reasons are the Rivian R1S for having such a modern feel, mix of materials, advanced tech and that giant glass roof. The other was the Ineos Grenadier. It feels like you are in the cockpit of some vintage plane with all the switches and dials. And then it has safari windows!

The interior of the Scout very much drew me in as soon as I saw it. It’s not a black cave like all the Toyotas I drove. There’s colors and textures and it has a vintage feel with the shape of the knobs and don’t get me started on the compass on the ceiling. That picture they posted of that compass before reveal I remember telling my husband I think it’s on the ceiling! Then on reveal seeing the plaid incorporated on the headline. It’s those little extra touches that are truly unique that I appreciate.

What unique interior features drew you to the Scout?

Toyota had the same 7-segment digital clock for something like 50 or 70 years. I'm not a nostalgic person, but I was disappointed when they stopped including it.
That’s the kind of stuff they should keep! I mean you look at these super expensive brands and they charge extra for an analog clock. That’s why I really like the compass in the Scout. I could see that same compass in the ceiling in a Scout 50 to 70 years from now. Of course it will be a flying car by then right! 😹

My dad had an 1988 Mitsubishi Montero and it had a dash mounted compass and inclinometer in a separate dash cluster.

I loved watching it move around as we drove as a kid.

I have seen videos of those cars. They look awesome. Mitsubishi should bring it back!
Unfortunately it appears Mitsubishi is leaving the US altogether.

They already shut down their last plant and recently stopped all shipments to dealers in the US.

Sad to see but they really fell from grace years ago.

My dad had the 2 door Montero and it was a little tote goat. Just climbed and crawled up just about anything you pointed it at. They bought it new when I was born in 88 and it had almost 300k miles before it needed its 2nd clutch and my parents sold it for a few thousand dollars.
They really regretted it.

They "upgraded" to a 4 door Montero sport and that thing was a POS. 2 transmissions in 100k miles. Thats when they ended up buying a massive 3/4 ton suburban.

They also had a Delica for a while. Those things are SO freaking rad. It had 3 rows and the middle captain chairs could spin 360* and lay flat so you could lay them down and sleep 2-3 people in there. I begged them to keep it but they gave it to a stripper... long story.

I would love a little diesel 4x4 version they made. Some of them had 3-speed transfer cases and could climb just about anything as long as it didnt get off camber.

They really could have gotten it together if they brought back some of those vehicles.

Nissan needs to bring back the xterra to try and save themselves.
