Colorado Event

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

Hi all, I saw that Scout is hosting a Colorado event on Monday next to the Capitol, primarily to help lobby against a bill that could prevent direct to consumer sales but also to bring its prototype Traveler. Anyone else going to make it? I plan on attending and would love a good turnout! Excited to see one in person.

Be sure to tell any dealerships where they can stick it if they are in attendance 😀

Do you have a bill number?

Would be great to post it and a message telling all Colorado residents on here to contact their legislators and strongly urge them to vote it down.

We need to do everything we can to stop this dealer lobby crap whenever we have a chance. I know @codythacker is doing a great job for Scout on this front, but legislators will listen if a large number of their constituents bombard their offices with calls, letters, and emails. Let's give Scout all the help we can on this.

Absolutely the way to go about it.

I did a little digging and found this post from Scout on Linkedin.

It talks about the event coming up on Monday, and gives the bill number SB25-160.

They also give this link for people who can't make it to the event but want to contact their legislators. To clarify, you want to tell your legislators to vote NO on the bill.

Colorado residents we need you now. Show up if you can on Monday, or send a message to your legislators if you can't. Your right to buy direct from Scout may very well depend on how many of you get engaged and make your voices heard.

I stopped by the event when I was doing some running around for work. The vehicle looks great in person, the orange color really pops. Man is it big/tall. I'm 5'7" and the front hood hits at the top of my chest. Interior looks beautiful.

I was however a bit disappointed in the organization of the event. I knew the intent was really to focus on the legislation, which didn't seem particularly obvious aside from a table off to the side that didn't have someone manning it. It wasn't very busy, I'd say there were maybe 15 people milling around when I went in the morning. However, it was not super obvious who was a "staff" member, or anyone greeting when people walked up to orient to what was going on/what to expect/what's allowed. I'd guess there were 3 Scout reps standing around talking to people. I walked around for 10-15 minutes and no one said anything to me. The three staff members were still talking to the same people that they were with when I walked up when I left 15 min later.

It's great that enthusiasts get the opportunity to chat about their passion with the staff, but it made it tough for anyone else. There was one guy walking around with a polish cloth, didn't have noticeable Scout affiliation otherwise. The back was closed up and I wanted to ask if they were able to open it. I tried to catch ANYONE's attention and couldn't, so I asked another attendee standing around if she knew if they could open the back. She's the one who pointed out the guy and I had to really try to grab his attention, he seemed to be avoiding eye contact, lol. I was very polite and asked if it would be possible to see the back open. He just walked over and pushed buttons, didn't say a word or ask if we had questions.

Maybe I had the wrong expectations going into it, but it would have been great to just be greeted and given a 20 second elevator speil of what was going on. Regardless, I appreciate the team getting the vehicles out in person, it was awesome to get eyes on it.

So sorry that this wasn't the experience you should have had. This was a last minute affair and we were scrambling to get anyone out there. I have already taken the feedback back to our team to make sure any future appearances are more in line with the proper experience you should have. We will be in Denver at the Outside Festival on May 31 to June 1st and will have both vehicles on display. Hopefully if you have time you can check it out.

Good you are sharing your experience. Hopefully SM learns from it. While it was probably more about the statement to legislation but if you are going to have the vehicles out in public they need to be more attentive/interactive at least to show interest in the fact that you took the time to come out and see the vehicles. Just saw Jamie responded so kudos for him for being proactive in fixing it for the future

Thanks Jamie, I figured that was the case! It was still great to see it in person, I know that opportunity has been limited so I feel fortunate!

thanks for describing your experience. And thanks for the height comparison. As another 5’7” person that’s helpful to get a sense of scale. I can’t wait to finally see them in person. I feel like I’m waiting for Christmas morning!

I'm actually a little concerned about the rear load height for dogs, it was basically at my bellybutton! Might need to start thinking about retractable stairs or something...

Or a doggie ramp, as I walk out to my Wrangler to see how tall it is.

The prototype is on 35s. So if the tires are smaller I would assume it wouldn’t be quite as tall.

Jamie as a guy that's 5' 3" and is a beast I'm concerned on the size of it, is the concept the size of production? or no?

Sorry for the delay in responding! I went to the event this morning, and it was so nice to actually see the Scout in person. Color is gorgeous, and the interior looked very nice to me. Not over the top luxurious (in a good way) but sleek and designed very well. I’m attaching some photos I took! Agree with others that it’s a tall/large vehicle for sure so that actually took me off guard a bit. I spoke to a Scout rep and am planning on making my voice heard when the bill gets heard in the Legislature here—really don’t like how dealers are playing games with this. I’ve seen how dealers upcharge on new/limited supply cars and it’s awful for everyone except the dealers. The car companies don’t win, and the consumers absolutely lose. I’ll post more updates next week once I hear more!

Ive gotta see them in person.

Jamie hit me up bro! I have beautiful spots that we can set these up in for like a day or two by the beach. Surfers would go wild. Maybe they will get rid of their crappy 4 runners.

BTW - I used the provided link to send a letter to my reps. I also added to the template, speaking about consumer choice but also how mandating dealerships is a terrible legislation of Land Use resources. We all know affordable/attainable housing is a hot topic in Colorado, especially at the state level, and highlighting that requiring dealerships is requiring irresponsible and sprawling land use policy in urban areas might add a little punch to the argument!
