Major Storms

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
I think I’m more nervous the rain will saturate that ground and make the structure sink. Hopefully it doesn’t,

And for the tornados hopefully they stay away.
That area was already pretty wet before they even started construction. Hopefully it was constructed using driven pilings, less likely to sink.

No in construction but I’d assume they have contingency plans for bad weather. It’s not the first time it’s rained in South Carolina I’m sure

My daughter was with us in London. College station/Texas A&M got crushed with hail that destroyed vehicles. Fortunately she was parked at Austin at airport all week. Got lucky on that as other bad weather hit. Hoping no damage in Blythewood
The weather forecasters actually told people not to go outside without a hard hat.

I would expect the company building it planned for harsh weather, since they have made other major buildings and factories.

Landmark Construction Co.

From what the website states, is that they do piles.
It will definitely be designed for hurricanes but if not fully enclosed it could tear the whole thing apart depending on how strong winds are

High winds blew through here this evening and took down a big maple tree at the end of my driveway. It fell across the road and took down the power lines and snapped the utility pole in half.

Power company crew is still out there working on it, but I'm not sure if the power will be back on when I get up tomorrow morning.

Sorry to hear about the power being out, but glad that you were not hurt and that your house was undamaged by the falling tree. I hope you got your power back on quickly.

Thanks for checking. The tree took the lines down at around 7:00 that evening and the crew was out there working on it all night. They got the power back on at 4:00 AM.

The silver lining is that I got some free firewood. The town highway department guys know I burn wood, so when they cut the tree up to get it off the road, they left the logs right near my driveway.
