Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
Nvm, lol. I guess it’s Body on Frame. All the press statements I found was it was unibody. Not like it will ever change my mind on RAM trucks and the quality, they will always suck imo.
Agreed. Although at this point I am really rooting for it to succeed because Stelantis can't afford to have another brand implode.

Plus if this comes out and it raises people's interest in EREV/Range extended Hybrids in America then thats only good news for the Harvester and Scout

They had 5.5 billion in profit last year.

Less margin than 23, but hardly imminent doom.

So, is Stellantis "starting to implode"? It’s more like it’s stumbling badly—financially battered, strategically adrift, and facing a pivotal year. The company’s not dead yet; it’s rolling out new platforms and partnerships (like with China’s Leapmotor), and the tariff reprieve helps. But without a clear turnaround plan and a new CEO to execute it, the cracks could widen.

I saw rumors the DS Automobiles, Chrysler, Maserati and Lancia could be getting shut down since they have the least income and they are expensive to run. I don’t know how true it is. But when Chrysler sells one Minivan thats a good year for them, since i rarely see them anymore.

Maserati’s already in a dire spot; Stellantis wrote off a 1.5 billion euro investment, putting its electric future (like the MC20 Folgore) in jeopardy.

I think we’ll see more brands start to go away as more people switch to ev’s it seems like most of the manufacturers are having a hard time they seem to be very hit and miss.
It also has to do with that a lot of these legacy brands think they have the money to retool factories and make EVs when in reality it’s expensive. And they struggle to advertise it. I think the companies in the EU are going to begin to stabilize again now that the EU has reduced the C2O standards, gives them the room to grow and hopefully be able to fund their EV market sectors instead of going bankrupt.

Who could have guessed marking up the exact same models 10% each year for years, while investing all your profit into stock buybacks, wouldn't sustain record profits forever? :ROFLMAO:

I have daily driven EVs since 2019. So, firmly in the EV camp. But, I also still enjoy my ICE Jeeps and a BMW e30. My point is that two things at once is ok. The world fleet will have to continue to ween off fossil fuels. For some sectors that can happen faster than others. For example, I am not too excited about an electric airplane at this point. But, I am for SAF (sustainable aviation fuel). I am not seeing a bright future for full EV semi trucks…at least for over the road trucking. But, I do see diesel hybrids being a great option. I do see EVs for light vehicles and last mile delivery trucks and vans. We just have to ween off, continue pursuing better efficiency in ICE and the fuel that powers them. At the same time, EV motor, battery and charging needs to continue. There is room for both and eventually the better technology will completely take over. No one wants to go back to horses (well maybe some). But, with the advent of the automobile no one went out and just shot the horses. It took a little time and that is ok. Now, some on here won’t like this, but the emissions cheating has to stop. Rational people do not like pollution. If you are not from SC you may not know we do not have any sort of vehicle inspections. No emissions, no safety, no nothing. It’s sad and it’s dangerous. We have the Carolina squat, super loud exhaust, tires sticking out the sides by over 6”, no restrictions on lift height, no checks for all the proper body parts and equipment, no checks for bulbs or brakes. Nothing! That needs to change as well. It’s not freedom…it’s stupid.

Since they split off dodge (and ram) there’s barely anything left of Chrysler. They stopped making sedans, their trucks went with dodge and all they have left is 2 minivans. It’s pretty sad.

Yeah-hard to be an ICE company and go EV. The diehards b**tch and moan that they sold out and the EV buyers (IMO) don’t believe they can focus enough to make a quality EV. Hyundai seems to be getting it and I think if Toyota/Honda would commit they could make it work but they are so solid with hybrid I’m not sure it makes sense for the time being which seems to be their thinking too

I wonder if anyone from Rivian will ask him when his state will permit its residents to purchase a Rivian (or Tesla, or Scout, etc.) vehicle without having to jump through out-of-state purchase hoops? ;)
