Wish I could sleep till 2027!

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

Saw the Scout reveal video in my YouTube feed yesterday and slapped down my $100 (virtually) without hesitation. I’ve always researched and overthought every car purchase, but this just clicked for me.

We have a ‘23 Tesla Model Y Performance and a plug-in hybrid ‘24 Volvo XC60. We’re not going back to gas only, but also not a fan of Elon despite the good in his products. Considering a Rivian as a future replacement to one of our cars, but love the looks and specs of the Traveler and want a place in front of the line. Even though I know there’s expected to be issues with first run models.

Is it 2027 yet?

Timing is actually great for me. My son is 13, so figure ill give him my AT4, and I was looking at a GX550 Overtrail, thinking it may be available as a hybrid in a couple years - and then this come across my youtube feed! I couldn’t hold on to that $100. Let’s go SM!

Sales starting in 2027 worries me a little. My car has 270k miles on it so I'm not sure when it will get to the point where it isn't a good financial idea to fix it anymore. I don't want to get a car for a year or so in-between if I can avoid it. Fingers crossed!

We had reserved a GX550. Cancelled and bought a pilot for wife so I can get the Traveller. The Traveller is SO MUCH BETTER in person than the GX. And considerably less cost with way less fuel cost

I wish I could too! Because the anticipation is going to kill me. But I'm also looking forward to the journey and seeing updates as they come along.

I'm an avid Toyota/4Runner guy but have had a '77 Scout since I was 17 (Now 46). I was contemplating the GX550 as my next vehicle but this has derailed all my plans. The new 6Gen 4Runner doesn't really do it for me and neither does the new LC. This is actually the first time where I have even considered anything EV. I of course did the range extender option. As long as things like cabana top and the two material seats and the dash design remain I am sold!

Timing will be perfect for me since I plan on passing my 04 Titan to my son around that time.

I can't wait for him to drive himself around (seems like a full-time job w/ sports and social life) OR for me to drive my new Terra.

Around 2012, I was hopefully waiting for a promised vehicle release. Got my VW in 2015 after giving up on it. In 2016, got a Wrangler when waiting for another release. Replaced that wrangler in 2018 still waiting. That one I was waiting on was eventually released this year - DOA. Hardly a shadow of what they promised.

Hard for me to be optimistic - but I do hope they release something close to the production intent.
