What Song Will You Play First in Your New Scout?

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
This is tough. I've got a 2 1/2 hour drive home from the factory, so not too long. I'm going to make a playlist for the whole trip like @cyure but I've got to tailor the music for each part of the trip. So far, I'm just going to blast Move b**tch by Ludacris on repeat when I'm stuck in Charlotte traffic, but don't yet know what I'll be playing before or after that... I've got some songs in mind, but that's the only portion that's firm at this moment.

Johnny Cash and Radar love are on my list. Never got into the drop kick Murphy and not sure why but I get why you have them on your list
Dropkick Murphys were a band that was sort of on my radar, so to speak, like an east coast version of Flogging Molly.

Then I learned about Dropkick Murphys doing an album that was all Woody Guthrie songs and I was hooked. I actually bought this CD and the second CD also of Woody Guthrie songs, and they are still in the shrink wrap!

Maybe Scout Motors should offer a CD changer under the bench seat or in the center console as an option for when you are out of network coverage for your spotify. As an alternative to a satellite radio connection, perhaps.

This might help

No offense meant if you are not a fan. The movie was silly, if I recall correctly, but they handled the flag issue really well I thought. Showed how you can take something that has not stood the test of time and both respect the popular TV show of the past while moving the standard of behavior forward into the future.

Would love a single CD player. Sometimes those of us who are older just enjoy pulling out the 20, 50, 100 sleeve CD case and listening to albums. Maybe this is worthy of an upvoting thread?

For the whole time I owned my Subaru Outback, I had these three CDs in the 6 disc changer, just in case.

One of these two, think it was the first, but might have been the second

So I vote for a 6 disc changer instead of the single player.

Good selection. I’d be down for 6 but guessing most wouldn’t even use a single-was trying to compromise but hey-go for it!

And I’ll add the following song as it’s my walk-on song. Didn’t link it as it may offend some but loved this song. Any thoughts @purplesnow

I don't know that one. And there are so many more I thought of during the day.

I'm really liking Metric right now

Gimme Sympathy leads to one of the best songs ever of course:

Though I prefer the Perry Farrell version

But really, I wanted to link this one, it does not describe my hair color although I could see how some would think it does

See you all truckin

And man the Dude hates the Eagles, everybody is entitled to one mistake

But they get us where I always end up

Touch of gray and hotel California for sure. I like the Metric song-haven’t heard of them. Will need to dig into more of their stuff

You might know Metric and not realize it from this song which featured in a popular movie. I've never seen the movie, but I think I get the gist of it from this video:

Unpopular opinion: Hotel California was written about Manos: The Hands of Fate (link). If you follow the lyrics, it tracks.
I loved MST3K in college! Well more accurately I had friends who loved it and I appreciated it once in a while.

I will have to look more into this when I am more awake and less trying to get work done that was due yesterday.

These fellows do a you tube thing called Road Trippin' where they play songs while driving around a place.

This one is in my favorite city

This one is in a state that is a good place to have a Scout:

And this is their song about the same state. Also one of my favorites of their songs

Two gopros and a microphone is all it takes to make your own video when you pickup your Scout.
