Sportsmen and Sportswomen

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

Curious who's here that hunts and fishes throughout the year and how you use your truck/SUV? Hoping we may be able to get a few odds and ends considered to make the vehicles as friendly to our passions as possible.

Me: Upland hunter who runs 2-3 shorthairs and travels across the midwest. Deer hunt, and occasionally get out and elk hunt. But, for me, its about dogs and birds. Used to write for an upland magazine, guide for an Orvis lodge and work in conservation.

My wants:
1. 35" tires and no swing out rear tire mount. Getting dogs, a vest, etc. in and out with that darn swing arm would be miserable.
2. Outlets to charge dog collars in the bed. I can do this as an add on in a cap set up; but why pay twice?
3. I need a cap/topper right away. Please work with Leer, ARE, Snugtop, etc.
4. Decked drawers are awesome. Please work with them
5. I know people who heat and cool the bed of their trucks through the pass through window and an insulator panel between the back window and topper window. I have a Tundra with a roll down window. It'd be nice to have the option of both window styles.
6. App interface capability with Garmin to track dog collars from the truck if you lose and are looking for a dog.
7. Fly guides I know are always sticking flies in their visors. You should look at a fly pin board of some type.
8. Lockable vault in the console for a pew pew that goes in your hand.
9. I'd love to see cabin lights that can be in red or green
10. for the Tacoma, Body Armor makes a nice grill guard for a winch and lights. Something that can hold a winch and some KC lights (not a light bar) would be solid. And a skid guard.
11. It'd be great if the bumpers came set up to mount a high lift/farm jack. Scout doesn't need to sell or equip the lift/jack (although I suppose it could be an option), but the mounting set up would be great.

What else?

When I read your list, it feels like Scout will either have these things standard, OR they should be provided by a 3rd party and not by Scout. So, I think the Terra will be perfect. Scout has also indicated that they will work with 3rd parties to help with accessories and those things that Scout should NOT be doing (so Scout can remained focussed on their core competency of building trucks).

I fish (mostly Lt. Tackle. / Saltwater / Saltwater Flyfishing) and tie all my own flies

I missed this one as well. Unless you are hunting out west and actively using the vehicle as your blind, I think most folks would be parking then walking woods but being from east coast, having family in Montana and not being an active hunter (plenty of friends who do) I’m just making educated assumptions

I can just imagine you stowing the fish in the tunnel and then forgetting about it…. 😜
