Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Which size spare would you get?

Shouldn't you consider full-size spare tires that match with other tiers? If you have options for 35-inch tiers, I expect a 35-inch spare with a 35-inch tiers option, but if standard tires are 33-inch, then expect a 33-inch spare with standard tiers.

Neither. 35 inch under which I hope is possible. Having a full size spare on my raptor is some nice piece of mind, but I don’t know if the dimensions would allow it. Any spare in the bed is just bad design. The bed is made to haul things you need to haul… not spare a tire.

My guess is this will be an added option though. Standard will most likely be a 33.
It has been stated the standard combo will be 18” with 33’s.
33’s and 35’s will fit on swing out tire rack. At the reveal the didn’t specifically say the 35’s wouldn’t fit under but implied 35’s and up would be bed mounted on terra.

I'd like to see a swing arm option like the Traveler has to preserve the space in the truck bed. There's some info on line stating the swing arm can support up to a 37' tire and 250 pounds. The two vehicles have very similar (maybe identical) taillight designs so adopting the Traveler swing arm for use by the Terra could be pretty straight forward. Add some structure to the mounting location on the Terra and utilize the already designed parts from the Traveler.

I’m not pro or con on this but having seen them in person the rear taillights and accent lights are significantly different. Don’t know the image impact from SM side of things but hey-if it’s that important maybe SM will add an option or another aftermarket will design one so long as SM provided some rear/side anchoring support

I wonder if it’s possible to configure the frunk to accommodate a 35” spare instead of mounting it in the bed?
If you choose the 33’s it goes under the bed but if you want 35’s you could choose between bed mount or frunk mount, with the understanding that you would loose some of the storage space. If you were buying a conventional pickup, you wouldn’t have that storage space anyway.

This has been posed a few times IIRC.

I believe that our man on the ground @J Alynn was there, and said that no way a spare tire would fit in the Frunk? Even with the "cooler area" utilized, and the spare was vertical in the frunk?

There is room in frunk but in discussing it at the reveal it just doesn’t seem feasible but the frunk wasn’t 100% locked in as design goes so maybe? The folks we talked with made it sound unlikely but you never know until sales time rolls along.
Thinking something throwback like this ?

Now there’s a visual instead of just a link ?

I think it would be an either/or situation if they were to offer it. If it could be configured for a 35” spare then it would become the location for the jack as well and possibly enough space for recovery equipment

Are you getting the standard 33-inch spare stored under the body, or the optional 35-inch spare stored in the bed with an integrated in-bed carrier?

Things that I’m thinking out:

EVs go through tires. I imagine an off road EV will likely be worse. Having a 35-inch spare on hand will likely be more useful.

How accessible is the under body storage for the 33-inch spare? An in-bed carrier for the 35-inch spare sounds like it should be easy to get to.

How will range be effected by the added weight and potential impacts on aerodynamics with a 35-inch spare in the bed?

Will I get annoyed by a permanent fixture in the bed of my truck?

I would love to hear what you all are thinking.
I vote for 33-inch under the body.... not a fan of mounting inside the suv or in the bed of the Terra

Where would that be on a Traveler and Terra Harvesters?
