Min Height of Terra

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

I'm wondering what the min height of the Terra will be with the air suspension set at its lowest level? I see the max height is 77.7". I'm assuming with the 35" wheels. if 33" inches wheels are used which I think is the default, will this reduce the max height to 75.7? From looking at the Traveler in Denver today it seems the suspension could go lower if the adjustment is made available?

I need to fit the Terra (or Traveler) + rails + a canoe mounted on top under an 8 foot garage door. We store the canoe on a pulley system in the garage where the canoe is lifted off the top of our current setup up to the ceiling. The canoe height is a little under 22". Our current setup has the top of the rails at 74" leaving us just under an inch to spare.

If tires are deflated to half the PSI would this provide another inch and perhaps give us more clearance. We could also switch to the Traveler which has a max height of 76.3".

Lots of assumptions. All of this depends on having an adjustable air suspension.

Welcome to the community! @Jamie@ScoutMotors is a good one to follow for information like that. There’s a thread going about the event in Colorado today. He posted some about the height over there. It may not answer all your questions but might help a bit.

Hopefully the link below works. I have been here a bit but I have not yet been successful in posting the actual post, just a link. Welcome again!

Wow-I would guess with the rack you are seeing on the prototype that’s gonna be a tight squeeze. I have 8’ h doors and we have a honda pilot. I really wonder if that would clear with a canoe on top. That’s gonna be fractions to squeeze but hope it works. 33’s will be a must. Jamie did just mention earlier that the prototypes are set up a little higher like an off road suspension so it may drop more than we think
