Scout Traveler SUV Green Off-Road Concept

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
It is a rendering. We are having both concept vehicles repainted this year with new paint, new interiors, new wheels and a few other odds and ends. Stay tuned...
Id love to see the Terra in white. I think the black bumpers and trim pieces will really strike a nice balance of contrast.

A warm desert sand would also be pretty rad.

Hi all!

You all have been asking for more colors, more accessories and more wheels. Well here you go:

This concept features a retro-inspired green color, 18” concept wheels, concept accessory running boards, roof rack, and different front and rear bumpers. Plus the front bumper shows a concept bull bar and winch design. These explorations give a preview of some of the things our teams have been working on. No guarantee that all will be produced, but we’d love to hear your feedback.

Jamie
Please give us this green!
That small brush gaurd is perfect as well!
I wish the jerry can was on the tire carrier to make it my order

Question.

Does the push bar interfere with the ability to sit in/use the frunk?

I am more of a mild off-roader these days, and while I could maybe get onboard with a winch for “just in case” reasons, but anything that interferes with normal daily use the wouldn’t be worth it for me in this vehicle.

Also, can’t see, but does the light bar have (or could it have) side/rear lighting?

The use case there isn’t for while driving, but for around camp. Sort of like a “puddle lamps” but a lot more coverage. I can’t count the number of times I have pulled up to a “dispersed camping campsite”, well after dark:30 at night (because of course there were delays getting out of town/whatever), and have been stumbling around the campground at night trying to get things setup. Even something like a couple more lumens (50-200ish???) per corner/side, would be super cool to have.

Anyway, sorry to derail for my crazy request.

the green I could do without, the full sun photos really bring out the 70s style green and it’s just not working for me…

Like the almost flush with the body front and rear bumpers. Like that there are recovery points on both the front and rear. I see there’s a knockout plate for a hitch on the rear. Really like the hidden winch as well, tucked away nicely and doesn’t protrude from the bumper.

Would like to see the wheels done up in a gunmetal color, personally black has been really overplayed on wheels the last few years…

These are definitely some of the options I’d likely add to any production vehicle.

I don’t think the roof rack has lights on the sides, it that’s pretty easy to add.

I kinda like that shade of green ;)

I like the new bumpers, mainly because it looks like they are made up of separate pieces. It looks like if a part gets damaged you can replace just that part instead of the whole bumper. I also like that the recovery hooks are less integrated, I think they look better not being integrated with the rest of the bumper.

The running boards look nice, but it is hard to tell from the render whether they would make good steps.

I'm not really interested in the other options (I'm not a hard-core off-roader), so will refrain from commenting on those options.

Another bumper comment. I don’t off road but I love having steel bumpers. You never know when someone is going to hit your car with a cart in a parking lot, kids bikes in the driveway, etc. I just really like not having to worry about having plastic, etc on my bumpers.
Totally agree.

Thats one of the reasons I'd be down with the bumpers, but I just don't want to make it harder to get into the frunk if possible.

People who don’t know how to parallel park without grazing my steel bumpers have a bad time 🥰

If they stick with the current winch idea looks like the front will be a steel bumper. Hard to same if they will offer a steel bumper for the rear, maybe in a package.

Aw hell yeah! Build this RIGHT NOW :) I want this so bad it hurts :). I used to drive a 94 Pathfinder, with a similar off-road package. First SUV I ever bought. Drove it all around Joshua Tree, 4WD roads and accessing areas most people couldn't get to. This feels like time travel for me: my favorite truck, brought into the future in electric!

The concept looks great! Here are some features I would want:
  • include the bumpers in crash testing
  • make the tube over the front bumper optional
  • make a cut-out above the winch so you can see if it is spooling neatly, give access to the manual clutch release lever and connect a wired controller
  • add a trailer hitch to the rear bumper
  • offer two versions of rock sliders - one that fits close to the body for those who hate side steps and another that has enough room to use as steps
  • include a removable jerry can holder on each side of the spare tire

Welcome to the forum. Tons to see and learn and generally we are very friendly people. If you can’t find a topic using the search button just ask and one or more people will educate, lie or speculate on your behalf 🤣.

So at least one can. Maybe a second on drivers side but the latch opening is on that side so there could be functional conflicts

I look forward to seeing the Terra with the same bumper and wheels.
