Scout Traveler Debuts in New Pacific Mist Color

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
I’ve never had a vehicle with leather.

I’m never going to wash off or even effectively brush off all the crap that I get covered in when working on the ranch. Nor am I ever going to do that before climbing into the truck after digging the vehicle out of a mud bog. Would leather survive me?

Has anyone who does a lot of work and play in mud, grime, dirt, etc., had experience with leather? How does it hold up? How does it hold up in a dry, hot, sunny climate?

Yes. Perfect for us beach goers here on the Florida Gulf coast.
Yeah it'll look sublime out on Highway 1 here in California....and I just realized how dumb that sounds given the name is Pacific Mist lol.

For fun I did a quick edit in mspaint just to see what it would look like. Yes this is low effort but conceptually the color fits in nicely.

No experience in terms of severe mud/farm work type of stuff, but I've had muddy dogs get in and dealt with the occasional drink spillage etc. and never had any issues wiping everything off and looking good as new. The only stain I've ever had that we couldn't get out was in my wife's old Corolla that had cloth seats which was from our wet muddy dog.

While options are not a bad thing, given the roof top options shown so far - I am most interested in the platform on the new Terra and least interested in the multi-rails shown on this one. They might be great and the best option so far-but most rails like it are for luggage racks and those do nothing for me. They tend to be the most cosmetic only option put on vehicles.

Not mud but two kids in the back seat. This is a picture of almost 13 year old leather. It’s so much easier to clean and every so often I just throw some leather conditioner on it. I definitely want leather on the seating surfaces.

I don’t even notice stains; they’re just part of life for me. I’m worried about tearing, cracking, etc. I don’t care much about appearance. Torn or cracked seats really bother me because it means they’ve failed to perform their most basic function.

Everyone is so different I’m really glad they are showing different options.

No rips or anything like that in ours so far. We don't have the same use as you though. It has survived a few furious nesting sessions by our dogs though :ROFLMAO:

In my experience/opinion - while not ranch work, but muddy dogs, kids, camping, skiing, mountain biking, etc... leather is way easier to take care of than fabric. I do clean and treat regularly (2-4 times per year? no set schedule, but more often in hot weather) with the Griot's 3-in-1: https://www.griotsgarage.com/leathe...CMSS&msclkid=a1600f50b8e419720c68679c9364ed7d

Granted, Xterra leather is not the highest quality, and likely closer to vinyl, but this stuff worked good in our Infiniti as well. But anyway, 15 years in one Xterra and 12 in the other, and the only signs of wear are on the bolsters - otherwise seats look brand new, except for where DQ blizzards got spilled into perforations. I think the Blizzards would have done more damage to fabric.

I'd like to see this color in person! It looks really nice, but I don't think it's for me personally. I'm all in on Silo :DI love that Scout is showing all these great options though and hope that the variety makes it into production options.

Also not sure how much of a fan I am of the denim compared to the other fabric options that have been shown. It could just be the darker lighting of the photoshoot though!
I think the denim with a paler leather for me, would be more desirable. I’ve had a lot of dark interiors and I just want something brighter. But if the dark denim was paired with like a paler leather mushroom gray or an off white (I know not everyone wants that either) to me would make the space feel more airy

Same. I want a lighter interior. I love the denim but even the clay from the original Traveler might be light enough with it.

I love this.... I've had a stuffed animal buckled in the back seat of every car I've owned since I learned to drive. Safety first!
