Scout Terra Debuts in New Silo Color and Retheme

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
The drawer in the Frunk clears the bull bar. You can pull it out completely and access the bin in the frunk. We made sure of it during the design of the bull bar.

Again, these are concepts. Some things on the concepts will not make it to production.

Thank you so much for the clarification, we really appreciate it :). And, we love that you're still listening to our (speculative, often wildly speculative) opinions and feedback.

From the photos, that sort of boggles my mind how that could be true (the slider seems to be barely above the bumper in most photos I've seen, and the bull bar comes up well above that), but I trust you all the same. Glad that things like this are being taken into account.

Great. The images are confusing.

Houston, we have a problem

Yeah, my brain isn't seeing how this can work.

Maybe the lid comes out another way? One thing I'm pretty sure of, is that bull bar doesn't look like it hinges forward :).

But, it could mean that the bumper, or the frunk have been changed, and they just can't tell us yet. I could see that being true too.
True that. We shall see.

Based on comparisons with the Traveler photos @cyure took at Nationals and the front-ish photo in the OP of this thread, the bull bar will block the sliding part of the frunk. This isn’t the first time a concept appearance item on a new vehicle wasn’t going to work in practice. I’m willing to bet that there will be a differently-shaped bull bar or no bull bar offered by Scout.

Have we seen any of the physical concepts with the bull bar and an open frunk? I don’t recall any.

Notice the bottom of the light well is many inches above the bottom of the frunk. The slider just barely clears the bumper.

Notice that the top of the bull bar is nearly flush with the bottom of the light wells. View attachment 8770
I’ll agree but the front sliding seat doesn’t slide past the front face of the standard bumper so my guess it will still slide open to get to the storage but sitting on it will be damn near impossible 😀

I’m chosing to believe @CP1@scoutmotors rather than what I think I might be seeing in the photos.

It’s not actually an issue for me. I don’t do bull bars, so that accessory isn’t one I would purchase even if it did allow the frunk slide to function.
I’ve always liked the look but no rear need and I don’t think that’s helping if a deer leaps out at me

So, first, while I've not been as active lately (work and life are BUSY), I am still actively lurking here every day.

Finally taking the time to respond.

  • Exterior color
    • Not a fan
    • admittedly, the color of the paint itself, is sort of hard to see (lots of the photos have high reflection).
    • color is a personal thing. If other people like it, doesn't bother me at all, but is definitely NOT something I'd ever consider, and is not a color that I/the buddies I have spoken to makes us want a Scout more.
    • At least from the photos it gives off a "something I found while changing the kids diaper" vibe that doesn't sit well with me, and thats basically all I can see.
    • Its not yellow (I'm not going to get a Yellow scout, just had to mention it :P. I actually don't know what color I'd go with, other than knowing now "not this one")
  • Interior color
    • Sometimes the Terracotta color seems a bit strong, other times I'm ok with it.
    • Glad they didn't do the whole interior that way, it would have been overwhelming IMO.
    • Not sure on the headliner. The texture/pattern seem hard to really judge via photo (hard to tell if what I'm seeing is Moiré, or what). Also not 100% sure if the tone is what my brain thinks matches the rest of the color combo in the interior.
  • 18in wheels, yes.
    • Sidewalls for offroading == good.
    • I'd hope that they'd be available on smaller wheel sizes as well.
  • I think the knobs on the dash, look a bit... overdone.
    • Way too chunky imo, but I assume they were designed for use with heavy gloves on.
    • Tactile comment makes me think something has been done with detents, or haptics? Hard to judge without having hands on.
  • Bull bar.
    • Worried about access into the frunk/ability to use the slide out bench, but otherwise, seems ok.
  • Steps
    • Actually think they're pretty good.
    • Low profile, and actually made of metal (not like "running boards").
    • For people that don't think they need "actual" rock sliders, these could be good
    • Agreed with comments about them going all the way to the tire, with the slight "bump out"
    • Could potentially run the bar all the way to the rear tire to use as a step into the bed. But, there is already the step into the bed, so maybe thats redundant?
Sorry I'm not really on the "super amped up bandwagon" for this one. Tried to keep the comments positive/objective, but may have missed the mark.

But, I really was happy to see new content, and I'm curious what they'll be testing out on the Traveller :).
Glad you could pop in and share your thoughts.

Hopefully you get a chance to breathe again soon!

I am digging the more reserved perspective and personally agree with most of what you shared.

Especially the knobs. I feel the chunkier lugs are more modern with less retro vibes than the previous iteration.

Also hoping for really fine action of the knob itself. Haptics would be a pretty easy way to emulate a high tooth count gear.
