Why? It was already noted by Jamie. There is no reason to start this thread. Follow other posts -particularly extra, extra where we have historically located all NEW, news. Jamie addressed this hours ago. Everybody settle down. As said earlier-the sky isn’t falling.

I found this thread completely helpful. I didn't know about Extra! Extra! but when I went there to find the news info, instead of news, I found pages of people complaining about click-bait headlines. Their complaints were funny, but not what I had hoped to read.

Welcome to the community!

Extra extra has evolved into a catchall for all things automotive in the news. Not all of the sources are equally reliable.

Around here the most reliable for SM news is @Jamie@ScoutMotors. He keeps us updated from the manufacturer side and answers our questions when he can. He’s a great follow.

Yeah-sometimes discussions wonder down the path less taken but it usually comes back wuickly

I have confidence with Scout - just not Cariad (from experience with software for a module that needed to be integrated into one of their designs)... So I'm scared if Cariad is the integrator (I should have been more specific)

I don’t know enough about it to be scared. Just going with what my great grandma always said. If a sentence starts with ‘what if’ you can’t worry about it. I love love the concepts. I’m excited to see more and everyday I am that much closer to owning my own PBY Scout!

I am not convinced, yet, that the 2027 timeline is realistic.

Since so many people want the EREV that could account for a delay. The "technical" issues cited in the article could be due to coming up with a way to put the engine over the rear axle. I am still not convinced that will happen and think Scout will move the engine up front like Ford and Ram. We will see.

It’s not realistic because we are going into recession thanks to the monkey currently destroying our nation from the inside. Why invest in EVs when we no longer have an EPA. Why invest in a factory that has to import batteries from Canada.

Realistically they would have no incentive to announce a formal delay this early. Jamie’s message said delays could occur. Why would you dissuade reservation holders from signing up? The story is probably legit. It could also be a negotiating tool re VW and the German govt re the monkey tariffs that the monkey in chief throws around like

The international world is still moving toward electric so we need to keep up and kudos for Scout. There are enough people wanting EVs it is worth SM’s current plans
