Scout Concepts At LA Auto Show, November 21-30, 2025

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
I’ll just take a key fob. How about that. Simpler right? 😹
Much simpler, IMO.

It’s basically a separate option tech-wise from those I mentioned above and has been in development long enough that the tech inside is continually improving and is simple, single-purpose enough that the engineers have the operation figured out and they rarely experience issues with functionality.

Fair question, im also curious how the cards work fully, I know older teslas you had to tap them to the door and somewhere in the car. I really just want to approach the truck and have it unlock for me without any fumbling for an object
I don’t like phone after app issues with our Bronco and they never did get a solution. I have a card in my wallet for my office door. Unfortunately the reader is 4” too high to just hip check my wallet toward the reader to unlock door. So if it is a card and it is proximity then make sure the sensor is at a height where I don’t have to pull it out of my wallet. I could be convinced of that over a phone app.

As long as scouts can sense whatever we cary without fumbling-for it; fob, phone, card, bracket, ect. I’ll be happy

Ford app has not been the best, but has improved over the years. However, the Tesla app is the bench mark and Rivian is getting really close but there is still a delay when trying to actuate the vehicle via the app.

In fact, I almost entirely use my phone/app to access my Rivian. Truly, few things in life are more satisfying than seating in your seats at a baseball game in July (in Atlanta specifically) and being able to turn on your AC, set to your desired temp, turn on cooled seats and watching the temp drop in the cab knowing that you and the fam wont have to worry about getting 3rd degree burns from the leather seats, steering wheel, and seat belts when you get in.

Regarding your office entry get you one of those handy dandy lanyards with a retractable cord and card holder. I use mine daily to get in my office and don't have to worry about throwing out a hip in the process lol!

As a former Tesla owner, I agree. Their app was really good. BMW's is also good and steadily improving. I almost exclusively use my phone as a key.

Speaking of key fobs, etc:

Is there a door lock for my home that can sync up with a vehicle's key fob/card/whatever? If not, Scout needs to bring that innovation to their shop. I don't need to carry a key for my car, but I still need one to get into my house, or my office. I'd love a new knob/lockset that pairs with my Scout's fob/card/whatever so that I don't need to carry any keys.
