Scout Concepts are coming home April 18-20, 2026

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
@Jamie@ScoutMotors if you have a way of thanking the Scout leaders, employees and other support teams, these events this past weekend could not have been a better experience, especially from a Scout OG like myself. It was simply a dream of mine. I wish everyone on this forum could have experienced it. You can feel the passion of this Scout team.
I told my husband pack a go bag because I don’t care what we have going on, next time there’s an event at the factory we are there.

IMO losing the hood tie-downs would be a big loss. They are one of my favorite design features. Maybe a stern warning not to exceed the limits of them would suffice?
Still on this train as well. Make them a stick on accessory without any holes so you can’t anchor to it and sell them as a DIY aesthetic option

This is the kind of post I come here for!! I'd love more of this insider stuff as I find it so fascinating.

Can you give any details on what lighting is changing for the government regulations?

Lighting has to conform to DOT regs in terms of color spectrum (within a given range) and brightness. We also have to install required reflectors on the sides (they will most likely get integrated into the wheel well liners so they won't be intrusive). Overall the usual stuff every manufacturer is required to do.

Awesome, thank you for taking the awkward time to do that though! That's one of the things I've been wondering about!

And now it's confirmed too, no way it's wide enough to do what I was thinking (doesn't surprise me), but also as it currently is it's not deep enough front-to-back. So, that's okay... I can improvise and build something to suit.

The front trunk on the concept has to deal with the way it was built and equipment unique to it. The final front frunk will utilize as much space as possible and will likely be different. That said, our frame and chassis were designed to deal with large off-road tires and the articulation and turning radius that come with that. That will affect how much width is available in the frunk as well.

I will definitely pass it along. So glad some of you got to see them out there. It won't be the last time. :D

Yea I kinda figured the width is pretty well where it's going to be. I can completely understand that. I'm down for whatever extra frunk space can be made! It can only help me pack it to the gills with tools and such. :)

I'll gladly accept the frunk space sacrifice for more arc and tires from the start. 🤙
I don't know how these are built exactly, but I imagine it's some type of formed tub that's dropped into place. Wonder if that'd give the opportunity for different sized spaces? Not that I see them doing that, but theoretically I think that'd be possible. One could be the "off-road" frunk, and one could be optioned as the "workmans" frunk.

So are you willing to share your experience in word form? Because those of us who have seen it in person get it but sharing thoughts with everyone helps convey things
Only in conversation. I hate reading/writing actually. English composition was my worst subject in school and college.
I tolerate reading technical literature (Electrical Engineer by degree) but conveying my thoughts in writing...nah. ;)

Great idea except the hard points won't change underneath very much. Plus if someone swaps to 37" tires and burns a hole through their frunk, we'd probably never hear the end of it. :D

In all seriousness, there are fender liners before you get to the frunk tub. You are correct that the frunk tub will be molded to use the available room.

It doesn’t have to be a book. Just some narration with your photos would be awesome.

Hey we can ask you questions and you can answer them.
Could you see any more of the factory off in the distance from where you were?
How many employees were there?
How long was the tour?

Everyone chime in. What are your questions?

I wonder why there's not a modern song about loving big frunks...

:-)

I mean surely there's a handful of musicians within the Scout family that could form a band...

Jamie... Jamie... STAHP IT! Quit bringing in this "logic" nonsense. ;)

Feel free to run it verbally into ChatGPT and convert to text and cut and paste. Not generally a fan of Chat generated responses on the forum but in your case it would be great to hear

There will still be lights in the quarter panels like the concepts, but they will have a bezel around them to keep the elements out and to avoid alignment issues. They look virtually identical to the concept otherwise.

The hood tie-downs might not make it either. Lots of debate around snow, ice, people trying to tie too much weight to them, reinforcing them properly as part of the hood and on and on. Let's see what happens there.

It is still early enough that I don't want to rule anything out. The production version looks virtually identical to the concepts. Mostly small changes for DOT lights/reflectors, some aero dynamic tweaks and a few other things. I walked past a full-size painted mockup of the production version and didn't notice anything different until someone told me.
@Jaime@ScoutMotors ; Last one (for now lol)

Any word on if Cabana will make it to the Terra?
