Purchasing original sketches, drawings, and samples

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

I saw a post the other day showing some of the drawings of the design and it made me think I’d really love to have some of this stuff. What’s the chance people could buy (or maybe it’s included for first year members in the purchase) some of this stuff? Original hand drawings, samples shown at launch, various renderings, etc.

As someone in the design field and having seen images in person at the reveal I would love some. That said, as a designer of something significant, they will likely never sell originals. Maybe some lithographs or prints would be cool though!

Totally agree on selling originals. Would love to have them, but figured maybe signed limited production high quality lithographs or prints would be excellent! Need some wall art for the shop!

This is something we are working on. Stay tuned... :D
When I purchased my 2007 BMW 328i I received in the mail from BMW a print of the designers sketch along with another picture that had a description of the design language and vehicle. I had them framed together and they were in my office as long as I owned that car. If Scout did something like this to send to owners after purchase that would be amazing! That was also the time when BMW produced those short films and each one featured a different vehicle and I received a DVD set in the mail that had all the films. I still have those, things like that add to the fun of purchase and creating the Scout community. Also that BMW dealer had a plant delivered to my home the day after purchase with a thank you note. Special touches will really set Scout apart from the rest. Glad something is already in the works.

I received something similar when I bought my 135i in 2008.

Being an early deposit holder with Rivian, I received a nice print for an early R1S rendering (well before the vehicles were actually released). It's framed in my office and was a very classy touch from the company.

But do you still have a DVD player to enjoy those videos ???

I have no doubt they'll eventually compile a coffee table book of some kind. I'd love for them to go along the route similar to a lot of movies where they have "The art of..." book. Having something that goes over the design elements in a way with high-res, close-up shots to turn it more into an art book would be great. Along with it, they could have a limited run, first edition that comes with 3-5 prints/photos that can only be obtained through the book purchase. Would also be very cool to have the designers that worked on the project sign them too, I'm always a fan of showcasing the people behind the designs.
