Jeep Recon

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
The only thing I’d be worried about that might be a slight negative for the R1T vs the other trucks is its shorter wheelbase. In most of my use cases, that’s a positive. But with towing long, heavy trailers, that’s a negative. Even ABS- and traction-control-based anti-sway systems cannot fully overcome the long lever arm of a long trailer on a windy day.
True but for most people buying a TRX or Raptor they’re not buying them to be trucks, they’re buying for the “cool/fun” factors I’ve never seen a dirty TRX and only Raptor R carrying anything in the bed, but it was always clean, and the thing in the bed was a bucket with a chain, they brought over for the neighbors to borrow to pull a bush out of the ground. Of course that’s not going to be every owner of these trucks, just tends to be what I have seen, clean and under used as a truck only bought because they’re “cool” and loud

Exactly, these are trophy trucks not trucks used to do any actual work.

They're compensation for frail personal masculinity.

Not sure if it was discussed previously, but the Recon's interior was done under the watch of Chris Benjamin who led Jeeps interior design before joining Scout to become Chief of Design. I'd be very curious to know what specific ethos he purposely carried over and integrated into Scout.

We all just need to win the lottery.
You keep saying faith and patience and hope everyone gets what they want so I assume when you win the poweball (faith) and things settle down a bit (patience) you’ll buy all of us a Scout (everyone gets what they want). You are a very kind and generous person. Thank you so much for doing that for all of us.

I’ll do that and buy a ranch for all the rescue animals. I can use my scout to drive around my property and take care of them all. That’s a great idea!

Other than the steering wheel there are a few similarities but I think both stand well on their own merits. I genuinely like the Scout better but this may be the best Jeep interior I’ve seen

Then you can host an annual Scout homecoming event. Where will the ranch be? Can I suggest Tennessee near the original launch location in Franklin? It’s a beautiful area and would-in a sense be a homecoming to where we all first saw them.

Sure when I win the lottery you can help me pick out the ranch. I have to start buying tickets. 😹

I’ll design it for free -least I can do. And a Scout stable for when your besties come to visit. Each scout gets there stable space and the stable captain can wash and care for them.

Yeah, a TRX never gets used to do truck stuff or get dirty…
It seems like you’re referring to my post with the dirty thing, but I did say this,
Of course that’s not going to be every owner of these trucks, just tends to be what I have seen.
Also are all of the photos of your truck? That last one is really nice, was it captured with a drone?
