Inspiration for a possible smaller Scout Terra ;-)

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

Have you ever wondered what an Italian pickup truck would look like? Well, here's your answer:

It's even got a sunroof:

Apparently in the 20th century, a handful of Italian motorists with quirky tastes hired coachbuilders to convert their Fiat 500s into pickup trucks. This example, first commissioned in 1973, was recently restored by French company Parfait Etat.

I like something like with which could also tie to a small urban van modeled after the original IH metro vans. Has a similar vibe

I had a co-worker that had a mini cooper and she had to trade it in for a larger CUV/SUV. The car was so small and she kept on getting ran off the road by large SUVs and trucks.

The Telo is not for me but it has some compelling specs for its size.
  • 350 miles of range
  • 800 volt battery / split 2-400 volt packs to enable faster charging at Tesla style charging stations.
  • 400kW peak charging reportedely sustained for a good portion of the charing curve. (cough, cough - versus Tesla's 30 second peak charge performance)
  • Reported deep charging curve - about 200kW through 70% SOC (need to confirm this)
  • 5' bed with mid-gate pass through to carry 4x8 boards.
  • 10" of ground clearance - dual motor
  • 8,000 pound tow rating
  • Option for integrated solor roof and tonneau cover for 15-40 miles of added range per day
  • Option for cargo cover and third row seating (removes the gear tunnel)
  • Gear tunnel
  • Manual controls (buttons) - minimal vehicle screens
  • 120/220 outlets and V2l
  • $46,500 top end price though this will probably go higher. I'm sure add-ons will raise the price as well.
I mostly added this here so people can comment on its looks. :-) I'm personally rooting for them to succeed though. If Scout's BEV models have similar charging capabilities I'd be over the moon!
