Ideas for Scout Engineers

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Hi Scout engineers,

Below are some ideas for standard or optional features:

-add rear bumper corner built-in steps to allow access to stepping up into the truck bed, similar to the Chevrolet Silverado/Colorado.
-include a digital key option to use a smartphone as a passive key for entering/locking the vehicle.
-pre-heat/pre-cool cabin remotely via smartphone app
-include 360 degree camera options on both Traveler and Terra models.
-include Apple CarPlay/Android Auto as available options.
-heated/cooled/massaging seats
-excellent sound system with subwoofer
-flex-fuel capable for harvester electric/gas powertrain models
-include a drain plug in the front trunk for ice/beverages for camping/tailgating
-ensure the load capacity on both tailgate and suv tailgates can handle 2 adults sitting on them, say at least 500lbs.
-include an option for a plain-colored interior headliner fabric, I'm not a fan of the pattern shown on the reveal vehicle.
-allow an option for full-leather seats instead of the leather/fabric combination.
-include an option for at least hands-free driving if not both hands and eyes free driving.
-rain-sensing windshield wipers
-auto high/low headlight beams
-include 7 and 4 pin towing connections
-power sunshade on the glass roof option
-solid roof option for those that don't want either the retractable or glass roofs.
-allow Netflix, Amazon Prime, and others for playing tv shows and movies when parked.
-use Google maps
-have an option to use something like OnX for off-road trail maps
-matte black exterior color option
-matte black front and rear skid plate finish options
-relocate the household power outlets on the suv from the same area where the charge port is located to just inside the rear cargo area so that they are out of the weather in case it's raining.

Thank you for listening!

Oh I have a request! I could also put this in the lady scout thread but it also applies here. Our Supra knows which key is in the car and sets the seat for the driver.

However, for me it can be different depending on what shoes I’m wearing. My ASICS have a thick sole, kind of like a Hoka so I’m father back. My Piloti driving shoes have a flat sole so Im closer. And don’t even get me started on boots or heels. It would be nice if we had a driver one A, B and C so I could have different settings based on my different shoes.
All ideas are good but I feel like this is a female thing (respectfully). I could see 3 seat settings instead of 2 so you have driver 1,2 and 3 (teen driver or alternate shoe style)

I request on the windshield it has the original established date of when the scout was first introduced as well as inside the vehicle on the center console. Multiple Easter eggs as well.
So long as windshield sticker is easy peel. Bronco owners learned quickly that replacing cracked windshield means loss of made in Michigan sticker which is a bummer

I respectfully disagree. Men have tennis shoes and dress shoes and boots and flip flops and hiking boots. Heck men’s cowboy boots can have a pretty big heel. I’m not saying the key would have it. But if they had a place in the screen where you could select your alternate seating position that would be great.

My seats in the Wrangler are manual and I need to be one click closer in my driving shoes and dress shoes one click farther back than my asics I wear all the time. This weekend I had to pull over because on long drives I wear the driving shoes and when I got back in I was in my asics. I can’t adjust a manual seat while driving.

Anyway, just my two cents.

Interested in other men’s perspectives. I never adjust my seat no matter which shoes I wear. Don’t get me wrong-I like the idea I just wonder if most men adjust seating based on shoes?
