How Will Scout Keep Its Momentum Until 2027?

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
I live in what is deemed the Motor City and advertising and marketing the Scout vehicles here is a must! The Detroit Auto Show in January 2026 is a great opportunity and later that year The Woodward Dream Cruise scheduled for August 15. Stepping up and Stepping out here would create an even bigger momentum than the one that has already been ignited.
Tough part is coverage with two vehicles and to date, Scout seems to be systematically hitting tech based shows that draw EV adopters and cities like Texas-SUV market and fussing reservation demographics are huge then you have LA that is a huge EV market. Current showings are to maximize buyer demographics vs just getting eyes on it. I agree with @OleScout ’s response I just saw. Detroit is good from the POV of auto Mecca but manufacturing is Sc and heaviest demographics based on reservations will be directing where SM goes for shows. So I’m not disagreeing with you but based on what I see as their strategic show locations, I’d be surprised if Detroit gets a show. That said I could see a corporate event at their design center as a pass through showing event allowing the auto lovers and talent getting out to see them in person. Could lure some engineering talent, etc… in the process

I totally missed this back in February, but it’s definitely timely now. It’s been over a year now since reveal. I reserved a Bronco on 7/13/20 and the wait until I picked it up on 8/10/21 was excruciatingly long. Scout has already surpassed that amount of time, but the length of the wait is blunted a bit by the expectation that it would take at least two years anyway. Nonetheless, it’s given me plenty of time to consider all of my options. Right now, today, I’m leaning towards putting that $70k into the Porsche 911 I’ve always wanted. If the Scout dropped today, I’d likely pass. The honeymoon passed for me. I’m fully in reality now with the idea of a new Scout; thinking practically instead of emotionally. And practically, I don’t need another off roader or an SUV at all.

I am sure market analysts have researched the automotive market ad nauseam. They know how long each percentile of perspective buyers plan in advance. I don't have that type of information. Likewise I should know better than to believe that other people have the same thought process I have.

That said, I might dream about specific vehicles in the future - but with 1 exception, I have always been so disappointed once they were released that I did not get them anyway (ok, 2 exceptions - but one was over 15 years later, so I got it vintage not new).

So far me, Scout needs to keep some interest up in our early adopter community - but in the end the bulk of their sales will be after the reservations are filled. They need hype after orders are being delivered. But more important, they need good press after the early release vehicles go out so they will have those continued orders after the initial fan fare becomes the daily grind.

Everyone has to make their own calculation as to what works for them. I’m all in on the Scout and I’m so excited for this journey and can’t wait. I hope everyone gets what they want and what makes them happy. Post a picture of your Porsche, if that’s what you end up buying, so we can all ohh and ahh over it.

For me - I moved my 60K + tax etc into a CD and anything it earns gets to go towards options (unless a price increase consumes it)... Hopefully I won't have to beg my wife for more $$ once ordering time draws near...

Same boat. And every time I judge a tournament between now and two years is more fun money above and beyond what my wife/accountant has already allotted
