How do you plan to kit out your interior?

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

Do you have stuff that travels with you from vehicle to vehicle? Discuss.

For me, that’s:
  • Little Goro monkey who usually dangles from a headrest and annoys my passenger
  • A warm fleece blanket
  • A neck pillow
  • A piece of black tourmaline and a piece of amethyst (superstition)
  • Fancy car air freshener when the air gets a little stale
  • A bag for recyclables
  • A bag for trash
  • Fifty reusable grocery bags
  • Snow brush
  • Raincoat
  • Comb
  • Sunglasses
  • Spare cane
  • Water bottle
  • Fifty assorted napkins from various coffee shops shoved into glove compartment in lieu of tissues for emergency
  • Jug of wiper fluid, quantity unknown
  • Emergency kit (jumper cables, flares, reflectors, etc)
  • Ibuprofen, quantity and expiration unknown
  • Decorative crap (NERV parking sticker, license plate holder from Something Awful)
  • Breath spray for yuck breath
  • Beach shelter and matching blanket (year round because lazy)
  • Photography stuff that should go inside
  • Ancient IKEA umbrella that I forgot about

Oh I do!

  • St. Christopher medal clipped to the visor
  • Stuffed Wile E. Coyote that my mother in law won at a carnival game in the 70s. He was in all her cars and when she passed I got him. He’s been in all my cars. He’s buckled in the middle seat in the back like the proper passenger he is.
  • Largish orange folding saw in the glove box. Hey Scout color already.
  • Scout beanie hat
  • Coach gloves
  • Multiple charging cables
  • Weather tech cup phone holder
  • Cup holder coaster
  • Chocolate mint gum (it’s actually really good)
  • Umbrella from the New York Library when we went on vacation
  • Swiss Army knife
  • Jeep ducks received on the dash
  • Jeep ducks to give in a bag in the back
  • Attached to lanyard with keys - seat belt cutter/window punch
  • Fire extinguisher Velcro onto the roll bar
  • First aid kit Velcro onto the roll bar
  • Ice scraper/snow brush
  • Baggie of change
  • Wheel lock

- Phone charger(wont beed it with wireless charging)
- My technician back pack for road repairs
- My water bottle
- First aid kit

Yes-please give all the ducks back 🤣 we already squashed that idea a long while ago 🤣

They are only for Wranglers. I think when she gets sold I’m going to hide all the ducks she got that way the new owner can find them. Ha! Honestly I won’t even duck a Gladiator. Ducks are for Wranglers. So they technically won’t go with me but they have been there so long they are just part of my car at this point.

Orange shag carpet-EVERYWHERE!
Kidding
-Some sweet charger cables for guests riding with me
-a small umbrella for the door which I always forget on rainy days
-a swiffer hand duster in glove box to keep the dash area free of dust
-my archery judging cross body GO bag
-(summer) my folding sports chair to judge from
-(summer) large umbrella for judging in the rain
-some form of a scout branded Stanley like beverage holder-preferably matched to my exterior color
-a blanket for winter time-hopefully a plaid one offered by Scout
-those amazing lock-in seat cushions for the tailgate
-I’m buying a real booklet style road map for rear seat packet just because I have a compass
-something to store my sunglass in
-(winter) extend and swivel ice scraper and brush
-multi tool in center console
-my CD collection pouch if for some freak chance they offer a CD player
-reusable grocery bags and cooler bag for in the frunk
-small shovel, duct tape, bottle of bleach, some rags, pack of matches and a container of Lye. (Don’t judge me)

Love the idea of hiding them in vehicle 😀

I like postcards. Always been into collecting those when I/we travel
Postcards are a great idea. Everywhere we go I buy a key chain a snowglobe and Christmas ornament if they have it. Our cross country trip I got a key chain and snow globe from every state. Loves truck stops have snow globes amazingly enough. The keychains I hook all together and it’s a physical representation of how many states we traveled through and when you see it you realize what a big trip it really was.

- My EDC Knife
- Tackle Bag/Boxes and at least 3 fishing rods(Heavy, Medium, and Light)
And an AED! Since I’m CPR certified. And an AED is essential.

50 bags because we are in cahoots and that’s how many pieces you get from an adult corpse. I handle the “groceries” and she “bags” 🤣

50 reusable bags, that like my hall closet. I use that amazon prime whole foods thingy and those bags are the worst. I throw them out since I saw a report that they are impossible to recycle don't hate on me for it. Im sure they are but they do have a weird coating on them.

And the way we can fill out the post card is our Scouts Color, and the last 4 digits of the owners SSN, mother maiden name lol. Just like scammer ask for, Ello Madem.

bottled water
snacks
two collapsable dog bowls
extra leash and collar
dog poop bags
plastic grocery bags
insulated grocery bags
towels
two blankets (one waterproof)
two lightweight jackets
two heavy coats (one flame resistant)
one construction orange flame resistant raincoat
two regular raincoats
high vis mesh vest
extra running clothes and shoes
first aid kit
charger cables
pens/pencils
measuring tape
UV light for uranium glass hunting
jump start battery pack
small air compressor
probably 3-4 pairs of gloves (some thin for running)
yak-trax for shoes
a small box of random tubing and swage-lok parts from my old lab
and probably other stuff I don't remember :ROFLMAO:

I’m glad I’m not the only one who carries an AED in the back of their vehicle. It’s the more accessible there than tucked away at home. I was even thinking of getting an AED sticker in case someone really needed it while I was parked and had to break a window.
They might be expensive but a Casket is more expensive thats how I look at it.

So I started reading this thinking you guys are all nuts for having that much junk in your car, and then I started thinking about mine:

Go bag in the back that holds
Flashlight
Extra batteries
Packable rain shell (jacket and pants)
Extra socks
Gloves
Hat
Cheap leatherman knockoff
Energy bars
Duct tape
Toilet paper

Then there is the first aid kit - after 12+ years with the Xterra I'm pretty used to this being mounted on the rear hatch, I'll have to find a new place, but this has all the usual first aid stuff

Then there's the "off road/camping" stuff - under the rear floor in the Xterra, this includes
tow strap
extra hitch pin
Trailer hitch D-ring
2" ball hitch
more duct tape
electrical tape
collapsible saw
Folding shovel
old school rand mcnally - probably should get an updated one, but sometimes I write notes in this one
basic tools (needle nose, vise-grips, phillips and regular, 9,10,12 mm wrenches)

And finally, within reach of the driver
another flashlight (this one is a super bright Costco rechargeable)
gloves
hat
leatherman
folding knife
dog bags

that's the stuff I can think of, off the top of my head, so I guess I ride around with a lot of junk too!
