For me, that’s:

• Little Goro monkey who usually dangles from a headrest and annoys my passenger
• A warm fleece blanket
• A neck pillow
• A piece of black tourmaline and a piece of amethyst (superstition)
• Fancy car air freshener when the air gets a little stale
• A bag for recyclables
• A bag for trash
• Fifty reusable grocery bags
• Snow brush
• Raincoat
• Comb
• Sunglasses
• Spare cane
• Water bottle
• Fifty assorted napkins from various coffee shops shoved into glove compartment in lieu of tissues for emergency
• Jug of wiper fluid, quantity unknown
• Emergency kit (jumper cables, flares, reflectors, etc)
• Ibuprofen, quantity and expiration unknown
• Decorative crap (NERV parking sticker, license plate holder from Something Awful)
• Breath spray for yuck breath
• Beach shelter and matching blanket (year round because lazy)
• Photography stuff that should go inside
• Ancient IKEA umbrella that I forgot about

They are only for Wranglers. I think when she gets sold I’m going to hide all the ducks she got that way the new owner can find them. Ha! Honestly I won’t even duck a Gladiator. Ducks are for Wranglers. So they technically won’t go with me but they have been there so long they are just part of my car at this point.

-I’m buying a real booklet style road map for rear seat packet just because I have a compass
-something to store my sunglass in
-(winter) extend and swivel ice scraper and brush
-multi tool in center console
-my CD collection pouch if for some freak chance they offer a CD player
-reusable grocery bags and cooler bag for in the frunk
-small shovel, duct tape, bottle of bleach, some rags, pack of matches and a container of Lye. (Don’t judge me)

Postcards are a great idea. Everywhere we go I buy a key chain a snowglobe and Christmas ornament if they have it. Our cross country trip I got a key chain and snow globe from every state. Loves truck stops have snow globes amazingly enough. The keychains I hook all together and it’s a physical representation of how many states we traveled through and when you see it you realize what a big trip it really was.

Then there is the first aid kit - after 12+ years with the Xterra I'm pretty used to this being mounted on the rear hatch, I'll have to find a new place, but this has all the usual first aid stuff

Then there's the "off road/camping" stuff - under the rear floor in the Xterra, this includes

extra hitch pin
Trailer hitch D-ring
2" ball hitch
more duct tape
electrical tape
collapsible saw
Folding shovel
old school rand mcnally - probably should get an updated one, but sometimes I write notes in this one
basic tools (needle nose, vise-grips, phillips and regular, 9,10,12 mm wrenches)

And finally, within reach of the driver
another flashlight (this one is a super bright Costco rechargeable)

that's the stuff I can think of, off the top of my head, so I guess I ride around with a lot of junk too!
