Front bench lower docking console

I think something that would be awesome and super useful if you go with the bench seat would be a lower console portion that docks in between the seat and dash.

Pull a release and it unlocks for removal with a secure dockable storage location in the frunk. Or just leave it at home in the garage.

This would give you access to use the bench, but give you most of the features of a normal console (which I bet is how most people would use it 80-90% of the time).

You could have extra cup holders, wireless charging spots, storage, grab handles for when the going gets a little tilty (like Bronco), etc.

Exactly. Everyone has one child they like the least and if your dead best friend needs a ride they can hold their drink

Oh just screw in some Walmart cheapies into the dash or door, like we do with our school buses.

Correct, but to add to it to make it more of a true console when the center seat is folded down (which will be most of the time for most people) . Otherwise that is just an empty wasted space between the lower part of the seat and the dash.

That's how it is in my current F-150. Cupholders in the lower part of the doors, but otherwise your main cupholders are facing the backseat.

A little bit, but honestly when I'm using all 6 seats it's usually for shorter trips anyhow. Nothing more than about an hour. Going out to supper, or taking visitors to a local tourist area. So no big deal.

They could actually do as well as the removable console, like on some of the 90's trucks. You pull a handle on the dash/flip down (looks like one of 'em ol' fashioned ashtrays) and a two spot drink holder folds out. That's what they did for this exact reason. It would have just been over the middle person's knees. Or they usually have their legs in the passenger side well anyways.

They could do something like how Lexus incorporated an extra cup holder on the older-ish RXs to the left of the steering wheel (see below)

While I'm not sure if Lexus carried through to the newer RX models, it really was a nice little perk. Theoretically you could throw one of these on either side of the cabin for the passenger and driver (maybe have them pop up out of the dash - see the circled part of the pictures), then not have to worry about whether you were driving the bench up or down.

Thank you! I have been quietly reading the boards since I first put down the deposit, but overall really dig the conversation in this community. It seems like everyone here shares a genuine excitement for Scout's return. I cannot wait, and really hope that the team will be able to have an event in Boulder, CO so I can check them out up close
