Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
Plus just a week or so ago they took local reporters out to the factory, Scott gave them a tour and the story on the local news said the exact same dates we are all used to hearing.

I don’t see how things could have changed so drastically in such a short period of time. I’m believing the local reporters and what SM and Scott told them.
Whhhaaaaaaaatt - you don’t trust a German source reporting on an American company because someone said something that can’t be corroborated. So much for “Faith and Patience!”

So they will still be released in 2027?
That’s the way I read it, but I do agree with @SpaceEVDriver and his post above.

They will have to crawl before they can walk before they can jog before they can run. They are going to start off slow and ramp up production over time. It’s a brand new factory with a brand new vehicle. They aren’t going to start out at full speed right out of the gate.

Faith and patience.

Wasn’t Der Spiegel known some time ago for just kind of making stuff up? They’ve supposedly cleaned up their act, but if the official word is this isn’t the case, it hurts their credibility more to have a company rep say that they’re not currently facing delays.

I’m also reading that they apparently have been know to take a biased view of the US in that they don’t particularly like the US. Make of that what you will.

Uh, how about that Airbus A320, uh I don’t know anything about planes (I’ll cop to being a weirdo who will always stick around for documentaries about plane crashes, though).

I’m still going off the website. And it says “ Initial production targeted to start in 2027 based on current projections, and is subject to change. The anticipated production date is an estimate and may be affected by various factors. Actual availability may differ.”

F-150 Lightning with 200,000 miles in 3.5 years.
No degradation, no loss of range, no malfunctions.

The owner charges to 100% every day because it’s a standard range and they need the range. They drive 200-300 miles/day, 6 days a week.

First of all they are spending their whole life in the car! Second, wow that’s amazing!

Jimbo Farley had his big reveal of the Universal Platform for Ford.

Not providing links because why do that. Lets just chat about it.

I need to read up on it.
I posted a Car and Driver article earlier:

I too would like additional discussion about PeanutButterYellow

(sorry, even after all this time, I read that, still did the double take/read it exactly as above.)

(something must be wrong in my brain)
Oh no, we are all stuck on PeanutButterYellow. Besides, my preference will be MYG—Metallic Yellow-Gold. ;)
