Dog Friendly Features

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

As some others have suggested I would love to see as many dog/pet friendly features as possible! I often travel alone with my dogs on long road trips as well as daily errands and would really appreciate a dog climate mode so that I can keep the cabin an appropriate temperature for them even when I need to run into a store and the doors must be able to be locked in this mode as well! I would also ask that the location of AC/heat vents be taken into consideration so that no matter whether they are riding in the back seat or back end of the SUV they will be comfortable. My current Volvo SUV has vents that are well located in the back seat but not in the trunk space at all, so airflow isn't always great back there, and the climate mode when parked must remotely be restarted every 15min and maxes out after 3 times in a row, which sounds like a lot but isn't if you're stuck in a line! And I'd also really appreciate pet friendly / easily wipeable finishings inside ;)

Welcome to the community. With that name and post you know I am going to ask for pictures of your puppet. We have a mini Schnauzer.

Scout had the vehicles at CES in January and there are a few videos that were posted of the UI and one of them them showed a pet mode. So you could leave your dog in the vehicle safely. It looks like you will even be able to upload a picture of your dog to have on the screen so that comes up when it’s in pet mode. If you search on YouTube for Scout CES they had a bunch of great videos from Scout and some car reviewers.

We have a hey lady scouts thread going and we definitely asked for easy to clean for kids and pet messes.

As for where the vents will be in the back I am not sure. Many have asked for ones in the roof but with the cabana roof and glass roof being so large there seems to be a question if there will be room for vents. Some things we just aren’t sure of yet.

There’s 2-1/2 years of info on here so the search function is very helpful. Also @Jamie@ScoutMotors is a great follow. He keeps us updated on things from the manufacturer side.

Welcome to the forum!

Welcome to the forum. As @cyure mentioned the dog mode has been shown several times and during the reveal toward end of night it was discussed and shown to a few of us. The discussion was also for a hope that the UI would allow an upload picture of your pooch (es) to show them on the screen when pet mode is active.

Thanks for all of the info!! Yes, I am a bit late to the party but I will definitely try to work my way through more of the posts and information. And I appreciate the hey lady scouts thread about the upholstery - don't get me wrong, I want it to look nice, but I also don't want to worry that it will be destroyed by muddy paws and drool because honestly what's the point in having an adventure vehicle if you can't take your adventure buddies along?! 😉 Hello to your clean pup from mine!
