Current EV owners, are you planning to buy the BEV or the Harvester? And if you care to share, what’s your current EV and use case and what are your reasons for staying EV or switching to EREV. Please only vote if you are already drive an EV.
Didn’t @cyure essentially just start a similar thread 2 days ago or am I missing something?
I had to close that file once i saw 90% think climate change is the problem.I took the question here to mean, “would you give up your EV for a Scout Harvester?”
The other question to me was more, “what could convince you to switch your reservation from BEV to Harvester.”
While related, I don’t think they’re the same question.
The general, worldwide population has a 92% response of “EV” on the question of, “if you had to replace your EV tomorrow, what would you replace it with?"
The population on this forum isn’t really representative of the world-wide EV-owning population, for lots of different reasons. I wouldn’t expect there to be more than about 60-75% “keeping the BEV” in a poll in this forum.
global warming is climate change - scientists stopped using global warming as much because every time it snowed some people would say "see it's not getting warmer!"I had to close that file once i saw 90% think climate change is the problem.
The climate is constantly changing. Global Warming is the actual semi issue that could be fixed/reversed bu small changes.

Im in no way shape or form saying humans aren't making it worse. All I'm saying is it isn't that bad. If Billionaire continue to fly jets that includes them all, not just the right wing ones.... Rockets continue to get launched into space. Miners are still mining. Most are actually still slave workers that are mining all the metals for EVs. Not a good look. It's unfortunate that you to choose to misunderstand the science. You could learn a lot by engaging with real scientists.
The science that enables your phone/computer to work and your F-150 to work (chemistry and physics) is the exact same science that enables us to understand how burning fossil fuels, clear-cutting forests, baking limestone to create portland cement, etc., etc., etc is absolutely causing the atmospheric concentrations of greenhouse gases to increase. And that, in turn, is causing the Earth’s average temperature to increase and the Earth's climate to become wildly oscillating and of whack much more quickly than natural systems have evolved to respond. It’s all the same science. To choose to remain ignorant of that science is a sad choice to make.
Uh! And you just stated my point. It's not that big of a deal at the moment. If it was im sure a massive corporation would be doing thing to fix it.global warming is climate change - scientists stopped using global warming as much because every time it snowed some people would say "see it's not getting warmer!"
It really is very bad.Im in no way shape or form saying humans aren't making it worse. All I'm saying is it isn't that bad. Billionaire continue to fly jets that includes them all, not just the right wing ones.... Rockets continue to get launched into space. Miners are still mining. Aren't companies already looking into bring trash from landfills to space? I feel like i learned about this recently on a video. It really is very bad.
Just because billionaires don’t care and have never cared about anyone else doesn’t mean the problem isn’t real. They’re just rich enough the believe they’ll never have to face the consequences.
Rockets don’t contribute a lot to the total greenhouse gas emissions. The math is pretty straightforward here. Yes, one rocket vs, say, one pickup truck is obviously a big difference. But the total number of rockets is tiny compared with other things going on.
Because of the long, long history of the O&G industry fighting the science, O&G extraction and mining is still going on. Which is really, really wild to me. If I had 1 or 10 or 100 million dollars of free capital, I would start a mining company devoted to buying landfills and mining them for precious materials (metals, minerals, etc). The concentrations of highly-valuable materials is highest in landfills than almost any other mine in the world. Not more than all, but more than many.
I recently wrote an internal white paper about how lucrative it could be to do a ridiculous thing:
We could make money by launching landfill materials into space, mine them there, eject the toxic left-overs out of Earth orbit, and bring the valuables back to Earth. It would be more lucrative than looking for new mines on the Earth and a LOT more lucrative than looking to space for mining… Of course, if we didn’t launch them into space we could make even more money; we would just have to take care not to spew even more toxic crap into our environment. Sadly, I don’t have access to that kind of capital and it’s not a “sexy” VC kind of pitch.
I haven’t had time to look this year. Just trying to keep a paycheck coming in.Aren't companies already looking into bring trash from landfills to space? I feel like i learned about this recently on a video.
So you’re saying you trust corporations to choose to fix the planet instead of increasing short term profits? Hoo boy. Can I sell you a bridge? I need cash for my Scout.Uh! And you just stated my point. It's not that big of a deal at the moment. If it was im sure a massive corporation would be doing thing to fix it.
And plus Bill Gates says its not an issue and won't be the end for civilization for many generations to come.

I am not going to bring it up but I am also not going to not correct misinformation. And not directed entirely at you but can we please stay away from the climate change debate.
