  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

Obviously we don't need a GM -- Car Play / Android Auto support is a must

No standard automotive features based on the Cloud. I'm not talking about things like syncing media with the cloud and that sort of thing. That is OK. I'm thinking about normal features we expect a normal vehicle to have that in turn are made to rely on the cloud. We don't need an Ocean situation here. (Ocean meaning Fisker)

No standard automotive features by subscription. If the HW is on the vehicle, it is functional out the door. The customer's vehicle is not a storage facility for manufacturer options. Obviously, I'm talking about things like heated seats, not full capacity unlocked batteries (pay $5000 more to get an extra 100 miles range that is already there just restricted), etc. Things like data subscriptions are fine.

The above stuff is on my pet peeve list.

I'm quite excited for the Terra EREV version. I don't currently have a truck though have had two RAM 2500 / Cummins in the past (2000 Sport crew cab and 2006 Mega cab). But I used them mostly as around town cars and minor truck use. My current vehicle is a 2016 Audi A3 PHEV hatchback (Technically A3 e-tron Sportback) and I'll be looking to replace it when the Scout is available. For me, my truck needs are small enough that I don't have to have a truck, but an EV based truck makes a lot of sense for me because it can be used around town as a "car" but also can haul stuff as needed. Unlike a big truck with big gas guzzler engine, the EV truck doesn't matter if I am going a mile or 100 miles. It's the perfect fusion vehicle for someone who just needs a car but sometimes wants a truck. Having just built my own home (both as contractor and doing a good amount of work though most main was contracted out) having a truck for the Home Depot or local supply yard run would have been a lot better than my Audi (though the Audi with roof rack got the job done -- major work was contacted out and they delivered their own materials.)

Had my reservation soon after they opened up.
