An Appreciation Post for Jamie

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

Let's all take a moment to appreciate Jamie (and everyone at Scout) for all the work they do. They not only get to deal with all the passionate knuckleheads here, but all the weirdos and haters on social media too. For instance, this recent Facebook exchange:

I appreciate the call out.

There are times when it probably isn't worth debating, as I understand everyone has a different viewpoint (especially in today's divided world). I don't expect people to drink the Cool Aid. It is also unfortunate that EVs have become political, as it really is technology. Everything in our lives involves batteries. More money is being spent on battery technology right now than ever in history. Why? Because someone wants to crack the code on lighter, smaller, more energy-dense, more recyclable and safer batteries because they will make a mint. Meanwhile, we are in the early stages of pushing new technology boundaries, and we are all learning.

*REALLY* glad you and your team are building the Scout(s)! I think they will be amazing...

Critical thinking about whether inanimate objects can have their own political leanings can be very difficult some.
I am not sure about that.

I met a fascist rock when i was on acid several years ago. Kept blabbering about how "Rocks were here first", "They named the best music after us.", and "Rocks are the superior race." I think he was just lonely though.

I’ve never been on a car forum before, but has there ever been anything like this in the industry? It just seems so unique and every reservation holder should be on here making their voices heard.

Jamie has the patience of a saint dealing with all our comments, worries, concerns and I honestly ask enough questions for 100 people, if not more.

Appreciate you Jamie, more and more as time goes on.

I too have never been on a car forum before. Until the CEO of my car company went off the rails, I was drinking the kool-aid. His cars are still great. His truck is another story. Other than infrastructure, they are no longer superior. Would I politicize his vehicles against him or his people? No. I would not go on a Tesla forum and bash one of his representatives because of his politics. Jamie, whatever your political affiliation, you are doing a great job with Scout Motors. Keep up the good work!

There, I’m off my soapbox

As we say back home in Boston . . .
Phuque that Guy!

Agreed.

I also have to laugh at the “proper straight or V-6” comment. When did a 6-cylinder stop being the woke replacement for a V8? I guess all the really old anti-woke old-timers have retired from commenting.

:ROFLMAO:
That dudes comment gives "I drive an old pickup truck 10mph under the limit in the left lane because I have Low-T." energy.
