Actual delay official and order of deliveries confirmed?

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
The ordering process above has me a little worried as a reservation holder. While I am committed to purchasing , I will not purchase sight unseen(never have). I want to look at it, feel it, test drive it before I purchase and configure a Scout. Sounds like in the article, reservation holders will purchase before vehicles are ready to be looked at and test driven. Does this mean I will have to wait until 2030 to get one after all the other reservation holders buy one and it's open to the general public?

We will be building preproduction (and production) vehicles that will be touring and also available to look at our retail locations. So you should be able to see one before you have to make that decision.

Does the entire factory have to be complete with a final inspection before certain areas can start producing parts, or is it permitted in such a way that if the body shop is complete, they can start stamping out preproduction body panels or chassis components while other areas are wrapping up?

For the assembly line to function properly, the entire factory and supply chain need to be in place. We will dive deeper into this with future videos.

That is what the experience centers and marketing tours are going to be for. They will give folks an opportunity to touch one and sit in it first if they are willing to drive somewhere to do it.

This is how I’m choosing to interpret the “EREV first” statements from Scout:

They’re trying to make sure they don’t lose the customers who are very likely looking at the Ford and RAM concept EREV pickups and SUVs. In fact, they’re going to be competing against a lot of vehicles: there are 16 EREV SUV and pickup concepts announced for the next several years. Scout needs to keep as many of those customers as they can. The EREV will also have to compete against mid- and full-sized gas vehicles.

But Scout's long-term survival depends on their BEV offerings.

The Terra BEV will only have to compete against the Rivian R1T. There will be no other full-sized or even mid-sized BEV pickups coming any time soon.
The Traveler BEV will only have to compete against the Rivian R1S, the Kia EV9, and…??? What elsei?

At least 92% of BEV owners choose not to go back to any kind of ICE vehicle. So the several hundred thousand BEV pickup owners are going to need another BEV pickup sometime in the future… They’re not going to buy an EREV because the downsides are so much worse than the upsides. If the only option is Rivian, that’s where we’ll go. If there’s another choice, like a Scout, some of us will go there too.

OK you goobers out there with EREV reservations, if you aren't traveling over 300 miles daily or towing junk, you need to change your reservations to BEV! What is the matter with you? And on top of it all, do you really like gas prices greater than $5/gallon?
Change those reservations! You can do it! :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Don’t be mad because I’ll get my Scout Harvester before you get your pedestrian Scout… :ROFLMAO:

The Silverado EV is still competitive and AFAIK Chevy intends to keep producing it. Ford's mid-size truck (the R1T is not full size).

Cadillac Vistiq, Highlander EV, Volvo EX90, Wagoneer S, MB EQB, Lucid Gravity, Ioniq 9 (same as the EV9 I know). Obviously off-road prowess varies widely between those along with starting price.
