  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

I try to use only robertson for woodworking, but don’t torx tolerate more torque - so better in a vehicle?

Couldn’t agree more. I make furniture as a hobby and work metric. Why anyone would choose power of two fractions is beyond me.

After having my misunderstanding of CarPlay Ultra being an OS corrected and reading the Motor Trend article, I ABSOLUTELY NO WAY want CarPlay Ultra used in any car I own. We have a 2 year old Honda Pilot, we use Apple Maps in CarPlay for all our navigation. Within the last 6 months we have had...

    Paddle Shifters For Adjusting Regen

Interesting, I find adaptive cruise control at its best in moderate to heavy freeway traffic. It handles the speed while I watch for idiots making dangerous maneuvers. BTW, how do you include multiple quotes in one reply?

    Paddle Shifters For Adjusting Regen

No, I use adaptive cruise control so I don't have to hold my right foot in a precise position for hours on end.

Maybe you should accept that other people have different opinions. Yours are right for you, theirs are right for them.

    Paddle Shifters For Adjusting Regen

It is different because using the accelerator pedal is too fiddly, hard on an already tired right leg/foot, too easy to increase speed without meaning to, too distracting when attention needs to be on the road.

The part about wiring harness and ECU improvements is in the electrical architecture that went into the Rivian/VWG joint venture. The part about motor improvements is an interesting question. Does Rivian make their own motors? I don’t think anything has been said but I have the impression...

    Paddle Shifters For Adjusting Regen

Finally somebody else who gets it! This is exactly the desired behavior for downgrades when towing, the regen is on for the entire grade and adjusted in strength to adjust speed for more or less steep sections. The friction brakes are only used to slow down for a corner, with ICE engine...

    Harvester towing

Welcome! Chiming in on the previous two replies. The Raptor isn't the best comparison to the Terra, the Raptor is a high speed desert runner truck. A lot of the 8200 lb limit comes from a softer suspension, maybe some from a heavier engine. The Tremor is the rock crawler-ish truck, it has a...

    Overbuild the tailgate swingout!

Thanks for the info. One more thing to add to the wait and see list. For us dedicating the frunk to the spare when towing would be fine. Maybe even desirable since it would offset some weight distribution loss on the front axle. The way we'll use our Traveler even 31" all terrain tires would be...

    Overbuild the tailgate swingout!

I think you were at the reveal? Do you have an idea if the frunk can hold a 33? It looks like the rear spare carrier will not clear a trailer tongue jack, we use the back of our Pilot as workspace when hitching and unhitching.

I don't think this is what Scout will be using at all. They will stick to what they are already developing. Car Ply Ultra is Apple's answer to Android Automotive, not to be confused with Android Auto. Regular Car Play and Android Auto display apps running on the phone using the car's screen...

    Combustion Engine

No I was just making the point that for us getting an equal total amount of gas in more frequent stops is not an issue. Getting gas at least every 350 miles instead of 500 does not matter for us, we stop more frequently than 350 anyway. Although yes for towing that +350 of the Harvester becomes...

    Combustion Engine

Yes, and why I’m not fond of the Scout repeating the 500 mile combined range point. Personally I find stopping every 150+ miles for x gallons of gas no worse than every 300+ miles for 2x gallons. I get that some do mind.

    Paddle Shifters For Adjusting Regen

There are two aspects that do matter and yes that my life can depend on. One is being able to control speed on a straight section according to the grade, general curvyness and road conditions in the same manner as manually shifting the transmission of an ICE vehicle while keeping both hands on...
