  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

    Scout Color Poll #1

I agree with this 100%. I like that Scout has show us colors and interiors no one else has so far. I'd like it to keep that way. I want my Scout to look like a Scout and nothing else!

Road Trip: Harvester vs EV vs Gas Hog

I noticed you used a $0.12/kWh for home charging as your base line. For those who don't have EVs yet but will be getting the Scout (this applies equally to the Harvester and the BEV), or for those who have EVs but don't do this, install contact your local utility company and get on their EV...

    Scout's comin' to Cambridge...Wicked pissah!

Scout originally said that at launch, they plan to have 25 service centers in 16 major markets. They also said that 80% of each space will be dedicated to service and the other 20% dedicated to an experience center (like merch and stuff I'd guess). Finally, they said they hope to have 100...

    R2 Launch Watch

I can chime in in my experience with my R1 Gen 2. The cooling seats are terrible in mine, front and back. I don't even use them because I really don't feel a difference. Heated seats and steering wheel are great, but in mine, cooling seats not so much.

Do You Want Your Scout To Have A Hands-Free Driving System?

I'm not using Rivian's Autonomy+ at the moment because I didn't find it terribly useful. It's got a lot of learning to do with respect to traffic, turn lanes, and the like. But I did use it during the trial I had when I got my truck. I had it for about six months and during that time, got to...

Good closeups in new Kim Java video

I second that Scout is a breath of fresh air. Just from the exterior colors to the interior designs. It's all so different, but not in like a weird Cyber Truck way. I still find it amazing that Scout openly roots around these forums and takes suggestions and questions seriously. And even has...

Do You Want Your Scout To Have A Hands-Free Driving System?

Scout Autonomy – hands off on limited-access highways and two-lane roads? I’m asking because Scott Keogh a few weeks ago in his podcast interview and Chris Benjamin just the other day in his interview with Kara Java gave some interesting facts. Scout has revealed their trucks will have “Level...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

My son LOVES these updates. He always asks me when the next one is coming out. We're supposed to get it Friday and I'm happy to report back with the other Rivian owners (I know there are more than few on here) if there's a desire here. The only problem is sometimes we don't get these updates...

22" sport darks with OEM size Michelin Defender LTX. It came with the Pirellli Scorpions, which rode way better, but I got a flat thanks to the City of St. Paul and it's pot-hole laden streets and had to replace all four. I've not noticed a decrease in my mileage. Only ride quality.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

This might be a simplified version, but here's how I look at it. Let's say the base model gets Scout $100 profit (that's the key: profit) and the high-end trim gets it $1,000 per vehicle. They'd have to sell 10 base Scouts to get the same profit as one top trim model. I would think it's easier...

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

I'm on the record as saying I want the highest trim possible. I understand, however, many don't feel that way. So I'm with you: the shorter the time between trim launches, the better. The more Scouts Scout can get into the hands of consumers the better for everyone!

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

I wonder if the $60K models will exist at launch but won't be sold. For example, if you took the Mountainside and stripped all the fancy stuff off it (wheels, tires, fancy interior, etc.) I bet the "base" price is $60K or thereabouts. If that's the case, they could start selling those "base"...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Alas, that is correct. I love my BEV but need the added range for that trip. I hope by the time I get my next Scout (we're about 1.5 years from the first one and I'm already planning for the second!) BEV infrastructure will be better!

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

I thought the same but in real life, that's not how it works for me. At least for my trip. I get 330 miles at 100% charge. But I was surprised at how much ambient issues over which you have no control (traffic, wind, temp, elevation, weight of the luggage, ac/heat) really cheat you out of miles...

    New YT Scout Review Video

You didn't miss much and I'll save you the time. Apple Car play confirmed. I thought the influencer asked two decent questions I hadn't heard anyone ask before that I was generally curious about--how loud is the generator and how will the generator keep up when towing or going up elevation--but...

    Website updates

Jamie said in February and March 2026 "later this year." https://community.scoutmotors.com/threads/scout-configuration-tool.7539/#post-73536 I swear I thought he said November or December but I guess not!

    New YT Scout Review Video

I noticed the lack of care for the concept too. I felt like I was clutching pearls, so at least it wasn't just me who noticed and cared. :ROFLMAO:

    Website updates

In fairness, I think Jamie said the visualizer and website update will be coming at different times and I don't recall what he said (if he did) is first.

Good closeups in new Kim Java video

Yay to potential air suspension! The ride is amazing in my Rivian. I know it'll be rougher with a solid rear axle, but anything helps!

    Infrastructure

This is a really good point! I forgot about RAN. I've never had the change to DCFC at one because there's only one in Minnesota and it's in the cities so it's really not much use. I've heard great things about them though (except the prices).
