  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

Planned obsolescence and lasting a lifetime

Good news... The one I installed was a slightly softer material I think - super easy to install. Took like 2 mins!

Planned obsolescence and lasting a lifetime

I'm guessing the screens you will see in production will be quite good, and very easy to see in daylight - I would give it a chance, but still get a screen protector. I have one from a company called T-Wraps that is quite good, still looks like new after installing in 2022.

Planned obsolescence and lasting a lifetime

You can add a screen protector (with different finishes), and they help with fingerprints, cleaning and protection from scratches or other damage.

Optional Diesel Range Extender for Scout EREV Models

Its a moot point anyway, since Scout went through all the options years ago and landed on the solution that's in development now.

Planned obsolescence and lasting a lifetime

I'm with you 100% (and that also goes for boating / navigating by instrument at night when you also want to see better into the surrounding darkness). Amazing what lights and glare can do to your night vision. I have barely enough brightness on my screens to navigate effectively and pick-up...

Clearly you didn't read my post and only looked at the pretty pictures! LOL.

Planned obsolescence and lasting a lifetime

Yes, you can still drive. In my case, this happened to me once back in 2022. I had the screen go blank while driving due to a SW bug (screen didn't "die" or "break", but I did get the black screen of death with no functionality while in the truck). The truck did not miss a single beat. I did a...

Planned obsolescence and lasting a lifetime

Physical buttons are mutually exclusive from a working infotainment screen - especially in an EV truck. You need the screen for many things that a button does not do. A button will not show you your SOC, and a button will not navigate you to the nearest charger, and a button will not show you a...

Time of year for factory pick up.

But think of the upside! Once you get that first one out of the way, the next one is easier!

    Off-topic stuff…

And since we're on a truck channel, this is insanity in a heavy truck. Fastest time ever in a production truck, I believe:

Time of year for factory pick up.

Please deliver my Scout truck in nastiest weather possible. I would like to jump a flooded 'crick while navigating around a hurricane that wandered onto my route, or outrun a tornado through a corn-field with some flying cows, or just plow through a raging blizzard in the dead of night up the...

We own EVs. Ask Us Anything.

Taking real-world data from your driving, then plugging that data in to a model to look at results, can validate and predict what you will be seeing for actual ranges. So in one of my cases where my efficiency was at 1.47, and with the following variables assumed, and leaving my house at 100%...

We own EVs. Ask Us Anything.

Did someone say cold weather? The coldest temps I see when winter driving are about -20F (extreme). This past year, the coldest temp in VT was -29F in the town of East Haven (Northeast Kingdom of Vermont near Jay Peak). That is pretty impressive cold considering that the coldest temp on Mt...

Interesting! My R1T has a built-in FM radio tuner, but I guess no more.

We own EVs. Ask Us Anything.

One thing to note regarding battery health and diagnostics - you can really nerd out on this stuff, but I have never once worried about battery health, and it has never been a problem in over 60K miles of owning my truck. Checking my battery health just isn't something I ever do, b/c my range...
