  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

    R2 Launch Watch

Took the words out of my mouth. Did you watch the video? I was actually looking at traction control & wheel spin - it stops wheel spin and sends torque to the other wheel in off-road mode. Pretty impressive out of the box stuff for this little truck IMHO. But, I wasn't expecting frankentruck...

Scout/Buzz Comparison? Now I am definitely not going to click the bait. 🫣

Long-Term Paint Protection: PPF, Coatings, and Launch Availability

Scout might offer PPF from the accessory barn on day 1... TBD. If so, and if I were you in TX, I would get it, even though it will not be stopping deep scrapes, it will help (and can always be replaced). Detailers can also cut in PPF without any templates if they are good pretty easily. I have...

    Harvester

I tow - but only locally. I boondock, but I'm in New England. I road trip, but usually on the I-95 corridor. I do a $hit-ton of winter driving, but usually within relatively easy range of a DCFC (even if I'm going into a backcountry zone). I know the harvester will be great for some people - I...

Good thing you're not buying a boat. Everything is a trade-off.

    Harvester

Not for me, but for some it makes perfect sense. The simplicity, performance, lack of maintenance, and no secondary system far outweigh any edge case I may have for a Harvester. I'm sure that also having nearly 60K miles under my belt on my current R1T probably makes my decision a lot easier...

How much more would you pay for a Launch Edition Scout

I'm sure there will be Pure BEV "Launch" Scouts when they roll out, if that was where you were going with that comment.

    Yes! Or that. LOL.

    Harvester

Man! Can you imagine being off-road with a gigantic generator bouncing around off the ass-end of your truck, sounds awesome. I'm on the East Coast luckily, and we have excellent infrastructure up and down the ENTIRE corridor. Non-issue for interstate travel. And nobody is stopping anyone from...

    Harvester

Hmmm.... Strap a super heavy, extremely loud generator of your hitch that will pogo like a 10-year old on a playground. Or - Take your lightening to the DCFC and charge en route to cover 500 miles. Think I'll stop and charge and eat everytime.

How much more would you pay for a Launch Edition Scout

Its very hard to put a number on something without really having a true understanding of the "value" and features included as part of a Scout Launch Edition. Seeing what is included in the packaging is super important to assigning a number. The interesting thing about Rivian's Launch Editions...

    R2 Launch Watch

And price and "ruggedness" in many ways - at least in my mind. Scout can fill a $20K Pricing gap that can be meaningful if Rivian pricing remains "premium" for R1 / Gen3

A higher ride option in Sport Mode, and expanded capabilities for Gen 1 Quad-Motor and Gen 1 and 2 Dual-Motor variants. We’re also adding more flexibility to how you ride in Sport Mode: all compatible Gen 1 and 2 vehicles can now adjust the Ride Height to “Standard” when Sport Mode is active. We...

    R2 Launch Watch

I don't have any dog in the hunt, as I'm not shopping. Just would like to see them succeed. My R1T is approaching 60K miles and seems to have gotten better with age, if that's even possible (with SW updates). Terra BEV will be a replacement candidate for sure. I literally just got a SW update...

New Scout Video: Forging the Future - The Sound Of Scout

With enough sounds, Scout could create a location-based "sound selection" or theme that you could opt-into and enable for road trips. As soon as you crossed a border, reached a region with water, the sounds could chang to an ocean theme... If you got close to the mountains, it switched to a...

Agreed - we should all be happy for a US-based OEM that can endure and succeed - all revenue and profits remain here in the states and hopefully foster more domestic OEM competition. Overseas brands with subsidiaries in the US pay dividends back to their parent companies. Love to see the...

New Scout Video: Forging the Future - The Sound Of Scout

I'm envisioning some of these things being options or configurable within settings.
