  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

Heat Pump / Pure BEV / Winter Performance (and Battery Chemistry)

So, the more I consider the Terra BEV (and my location in the Northeast) the more I am drawn to a Heat Pump as a required component for my next EV truck. I honestly don't think it would eliminate any DCFC charging stops that I would normally need to take on my winter trips, but it could...

#4 Reservation spot for sale (?)

Dear Friends, my name is Ndugood. I am a wealthy Nigerian prince who loves the jazz of music. I am seeking your help to move $200,000,000 from my checking account here in Nigeria to the United States . I too love the jazz of music and am planning to flee to America to open many jazz clubs at...

    Brake pedal behavior: Preference?

And like you are throwing energy away and money out the door when you hit friction brakes in an ICE vehicle!

    Off-topic stuff…

I don't think the humanoids possess that quantity of antiprotons (thankfully), or we might be looking at the possibility of someone turning our planet into a wormhole.

    Off-topic stuff…

That thing looks like a hydrofoil! They could probably run it in reverse and suck it to the ground! LOL

    Key Fob question

Yes, mine also... Because sometimes the key to a tricky situation is a bit more power. But I use Snow Mode all the time and prefer less regen and more pedal modulation in those situations. Still 1-pedal, just less regen force.

    Key Fob question

Regen will also be one aspect of specific drive modes that you can enable easily (like OFF-ROAD MODE for example). Here you will likely see higher regen as part of a number of different settings changes: ride feel / damping, ride height (if AIR), regen, throttle characteristics, locker, cameras...

Poll: Would you use a Scout configurator tool if pricing and details are not finalized yet?

Just the opposite. Each phase of development is intentionally designed to "help the cause". Scout needed to have early, physical representations of their 2 vehicles that could be seen, visualized and used at key events (like their LAUNCH EVENT) - it is certainly helping their cause. There are...

    R2 Launch Watch

This is one area where Rivian has been very intentional (and thoughtful). They provide an alert in-App about any OTA's that are available. Although I could do it, I have opted not to "Auto-Update" the SW with OTA's. FWIW, I have had no updates that have caused any major issues, I play it a...

    Key Fob question

Help me understand this implementation... If you have enough Regen, you should be able to drive one-pedal, no? Do you have to engage the paddle every time you want to slow down with Regen? My impression with paddles was that you could use them to set the amount of Regen and that Regen remained...

    Key Fob question

I think the problem could lie with people adjusting & coming from other vehicles with a START button. We have come a long way in a relatively short period of time. If you haven't owned an EV with a modern SW stack that includes configurable settings to accommodate many different preferences...

March 2026 Scout Production Center Update

Yeah, usually there will be multiple parties and subs involved for sure. I'm just connecting the dots between the robots, Becker and the fact that Becker got its start with VW in Germany and recently added a GA location.

    Rear Window

Depends on the run. It can handle enough pizza for an entire football or lacrosse team - that I can confirm.

March 2026 Scout Production Center Update

Good news... Robots are calibrated & kinematically tuned through software so they will all be "fine-tuned" (essentially) once they come online. Based on my own experience in robotics, and at this stage, the focus should really be on anchoring and the flooring. Oh yes, and you wouldn't believe...

    Rear Window

This is FRUNK TERRITORY all the way. This is where the extra storage space of an EV shines, and the Scout frunk will be perfect for a lot of this stuff.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Looking at RIVN is different than looking at Rivian. The RIVN stock price and markets are impacted by geopolitical and macro forces that Rivian does not control. Rivian (the company) can crush innovation and solidify itself against the legacy OEM's as a domestic EV truck player FOR YEARS, while...

    Reservation order

Correct, and as alluded to by Strider above, we will all have front row seats to the right side of your brain (online) as this all plays out! 😁
  18. R1TVT

    Reservation order

I would agree with most of this directionally -speaking (based on the Rivian launch). People simply aren't going to get their trucks in the exact order of their reservation in the queue. That would be an impossible task that would likely bankrupt Scout in year one. Also, once the configurator is...

    R2 Launch Watch

100% - Took me a while to get used to the front-end. But, Rivian certainly accomplished what they set out to do - create something that really stood out and garnered reactions to firmly establish their identity as an American company that was producing the 1st EV Truck. No denying that one. I...
