  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

We also can assume, based on someone Jamie said, we can turn down the option to be in a batch (or multiple) to wait for options to be available

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Good question. Something like another $100-1,000 but it locks us in on our place in the “real line”

Locking in means giving up that refundable money, so it easy to assume we won’t all lock in at the same time but rather in batches, at least early on, and those emails would be sent out based on reservations, starting with travelers and those might be 70/30 power split, but then once you get...

If they do EREV first, what’s going to be the delay if an EREV reservation holder locks in an BEV instead? The real reason I’m asking this because we don’t really know are place in line, but if scout intends to do one power plant first over the other they would presumably use what we’ve...

    Off-topic stuff…

Last year I bout 2 Jugs of RainX fluid for $10, now for 4 blades to replace them on our Chevrolets and 2 jugs of fluid is $90

And hopefully they’re easily accessible, and won’t require ripping out half the dash, it took me 40 minutes to get the Buick back together after replacing the filter, and I think it was the volt, just pop a small door in the back of the glove compartment, replace and close. Took 2 minutes total

Where would you like to see the Traveler and Terra this year?

Given the announcement event was held in Franklin, im hopeful they'll do something in the early days for Tennessee, once we're looking at experience centers or at the very least test drives later this year or next year

I hope we get more small EV truck options, an R2 as a two door truck or removable top I’d probably be all over, or if Chevy brought back the S10 or El Camino name plate for something similar I might be trying to talk myself out having two personal vehicles

Yeah, but the type of people that will use those stickers only care about the brand

    Off-topic stuff…

I think the last time I paid for an oil change was the beginning of last year and it was about $80 for an ICEV, two months ago, we took the Volt for an oil change and tire rotation with about 40% discount it was over $100. It wouldn’t be impossible to do it at home and save money, but driving an...

This particular issue isn’t with Rivian owners, but those that overlap with redditers, they tend to lock in on “their thing” and make their personality

    Off-topic stuff…

When did an oil change get so expensive, a friend had something coming up and needed to get an oil change before hand and gets paid a few days later, I offered to pay today since I had a discount and get cash back, it was over $100 for just the oil change

People get that way over “their brand” my brother and I had 2001 GM 1500s I had a Silverado and he had a GMC he acted like they completely different and like his truck was better for some reason even though they almost the same truck

Rivian owners are turning into Ford, GM, RAM owners that treat they’re brand as THE brand forget that competition is healthy and opens the door for innovation

Where would you like to see the Traveler and Terra this year?

They’re helping me make sure I don’t waste my money on things I don’t need so I can save better, plus they will probably be cosigning with me so our names are on both vehicles that we own, and given that regardless sometime in the next couple of years, I intended to buy a $60-90k truck there...

Harvester Battery Stage of Charge Question

Just hopefully without the park outside warnings.. I’m not directing this at just Jeep as many hybrids have had scary issues, even Gen1 BEV Bolts had the warning. Genuinely hope no car suffers “park outside” or that car buyers half to deal with such a concern warning

Where would you like to see the Traveler and Terra this year?

Literally anywhere in Tennessee, or parts of southern Kentucky, or northern Alabama. I can take any day of the week of any month to go see these vehicles, especially now that my partner is finally come around to the idea me getting one and wants to see them in person
