  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

What trim levels would you like to see at launch?

It goes without saying that Scout needs to be very intentional with their launch (and what is really their new "handshake" to the truck & SUV buyers of America). If it were me, I would absolutely avoid any feelings of cheapness, plasticy bits and poor fit and finish with that first handshake...

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

And tires... Noise from the motors will be inconsequential.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Ever since Volvo was sold to Zhejiang Geely Holding Group, it really has not been the same company. I would never buy a Volvo today (unless it was used and was a boxy old station wagon from 1985).

59 Months (and counting) of EV driving...

Looks great, what's the weight on that bad larry? Comparable to fiberglass? I used to love having a cap and a platform (for a futon mattress with storage underneath for gear) the back in the ole' days. Now I think I get more utility out of my bed without the Cap, but that will be a debatable...

Ah, gotcha, thank you! My tonneau is still working flawlessly after 50+ miles. I will say that it might be hard to go back to not having an automatic tonneau. It does spoil you -especially if you use the bed to haul luggage or things that need to be protected from thieves or the elements. Its...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

I'm so far behind on this thread, and there are so many external links that I have no clue what I'm excited about!

What trim levels would you like to see at launch?

In that case you have nothing to worry about, since that is not how LII+ works... It's all optional and configurable. A new Scout ain't just gunna drive you 'round.

    Driver settings memory

Pretty sure Rivian allows for up to 4 "Phone as a Key profiles" per vehicle, so if your family member accesses your truck with their smartphone, the profile associated with that phone key automatically adjusts to the saved settings for that driver (FWIW).

    Limited tech integration

This is less about tech integration, EV's or OEM's, and more about human behavior and taking responsibility behind the wheel in any vehicle, AND obeying your states distracted driver laws. I'm sure we have all seen plenty of distracted drivers with smartphones stuck to a holder on the dash or...

Scout Traveler Debuts in New Pacific Mist Color

Looks right at home in its lean-to. Beautiful details and color. Would love to see a FULL terracotta seat, and what that might look like. Well done!

Scout Field Service Manuals - Technical Manuals Would Be Fantastic For Owners

*** Quick Anecdote: When Rivian launched (and prior to me taking delivery) there was a tremendous amount of content online and on YouTube, as well as great content from the company. If you were following along (like we are here) you were essentially a product expert before you were an owner and...

From a Tesla and Lightning Owner: Here’s What I Need to See from Scout

Regular travel is a great use case for any EV, based on average travel distance. Also, EV's make excellent off-road vehicles (and to be clear, never in my post did I say they were not ideal off-road). It might be helpful to step-back, understand where sales will come from for Scout, who will be...

From a Tesla and Lightning Owner: Here’s What I Need to See from Scout

interesting. I'm not sure you understand EV ownership - Most owners do the majority of their charging at home (or even at work, for FREE in many cases) For most owners, you only charge at DCFC's and pay higher rates IF / WHEN on a road trip. Nobody is forcing anybody to buy an EV and charge...

Terra truck bed looks smaller now.

FYI and not sure if you realize this or not, but you are replying directly to a Scout executive. Even if what you stated were true (which it is not), you are still looking at a prototype truck. Scout has stated many times that final specs will be published with the production vehicle, and...

From a Tesla and Lightning Owner: Here’s What I Need to See from Scout

Lots of variables to consider here, but these are a few that have come up in the conversation. My own opinion is that Scout is smart not to try to bite this off in Phase 1 of their new product (and new company) launch: 1. Solar is available today as an aftermarket accessory, and not a core...

Scout Field Service Manuals - Technical Manuals Would Be Fantastic For Owners

What if the locks are broken and the doors won't open? LOL. Just kidding. But you could always access it from your phone or your computer to PRINT another copy!

Scout Field Service Manuals - Technical Manuals Would Be Fantastic For Owners

The only time I have ever needed to print anything from the online owners manual (also available via the infotainment screen, which is great) was when I wanted to give my local tire shop instructions on accessing maintenance mode and changing a tire, and that was just in case they ran into any...

Option for vehicle delivery at plant

This is such an excellent plan. I remember driving my Silverado 2500HD with 100K+ miles into the ground before taking delivery of my R1T (fully expecting that the shift to the R1T would be even BETTER if the Silverado was on its last legs)... Rivian also matched my estimate from Edmunds or...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Agreed - after my first DTC purchase, it would be very hard to go back to a dealer - ever.
