  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Go ahead and add your address to your reservation and you will get something mailed to you. Same for anyone else with a reservation that didn't receive an email.

Yes, you can gas and go. You will typically run out of fuel before you run out of battery. So you stop and fuel up and keep driving. Conversely, if you want to stop and charge the battery pack off the gas generator, you can. You can camp and use the generator to top off the battery pack as well...

October 2025 Scout Motors Production Center Update

There will be subassembly going on in the supplier park, so a combination of things.
  4. Jamie@ScoutMotors

    Plug in hybrid.

I think the series hybrid gives us options to do this in ways that make sense and give customers the most flexibility.

October 2025 Scout Motors Production Center Update

The grading started a couple months before the official announcement (you can see it previous months updates in background). The supplier buildings are going up quick. Different type of construction as they don’t need to install over head car carriers hanging from the ceiling. 😎

Yep, if you add your address you will get something from us, even if you haven’t received the email yet (also check spam folder just in case).

    Plug in hybrid.

Yes, absolutely. There is roughly 150 mile of pure BEV range. So let’s say you run out of fuel, you would still have a certain percentage of battery left to get you to either a gas station for more fuel, or a battery charger to top off the battery. Yes, the system will know when the fuel tank...

These were sent to whatever email you used for your reservation (if your forum registration is a different email then that's why it isn't the same). These are going out to reservation holders.

    Plug in hybrid.

I think it depends on the use case naturally. But under normal operating conditions the fuel will run out before the battery. Whether that leaves 10% or 20% remains to be seen, but you get the general idea. Keep in mind it will remind you fuel is low just like any ICE vehicle, so pulling in...

    Plug in hybrid.

Yes, ECO would try and maximize battery usage before the engine kicks in. The nav system and GPS are still active when you drive around the only piece missing is the destination. Although newer versions of CarPlay will feed some navigation info to the car, I'm not sure where that line starts...

No, but I can't wait until we do build something like this. :D

    Plug in hybrid.

Some clarification here (at least in Scout's case)... In everyday usage, the Harvester system will look at the load on the vehicle, speed, temp, pitch, and yaw, and a variety of other variables, including navigation system plots, GPS location (for road and grade info), and more, and decide...

The two concepts had to be in LA for a video/photo shoot this week (I just got back from the shoot), so we had get creative to get two vehicles to the HQ press conference in Charlotte. More new photos coming soon of both vehicles and the LA Auto Show wheels and "backpack". :D

So this is one of a few "styling bucks" that is full size with regular wheels and tires but has no drivetrain and no interior (There are headrests and top of dash and steering wheel, but nothing below that). The doors don't open either - they paint the seam to look like a door opening and there...

    Initial Production Release

As we get closer to production yes, that's always helpful. But when you convert from a reservation to an order, we will know pretty quickly where everyone stands. :D

    Initial Production Release

Not that I know of (at least in the next few months). The biggest issue is that since we aren't stamping any Scout sheetmetal yet, our mules are complete Frankenstein's of odd sheetmetal and look nothing like Scouts. So we tend not to highlight them yet, as we would end up spending a lot of time...

    Initial Production Release

Switching vehicles or powertrains within a reservation won't change your original place in line. I know it has been discussed elsewhere, but only a small percentage of reservation holders have reserved more than one vehicle.
